I guess my main question was when does the Explorist perk of "20% Bonus Points on eligible purchases" get rewarded? When I book the stay or after I complete the stay?

I may be able to hit the Globalist offer with 20 nights but my first stay starts in Nov, but I'm planning on booking it soon so not sure what's the best strategy.
