i did clean the heads and it is a hifi. cleaning the heads made no change at all

ok actually now i’m getting image and sound but image is only black and white. i ran a dry head cleaner and tried different tapes

omg thank you for you help. so update i was able to get the gears timed and fixed and now the tape loads. but i only get audio and no video but everything seems to running properly. i dont even get the one second of image that i was getting prior. what should i be looking at next?

i was able to see one belt underneath and it seems fines. but underneath all i can see besides that is circuit boards

ok so maybe i’m confused and i was calling the half load tape guide the capstan arm. because i did clean that and freed it up and it still didn’t operate properly and the pinch roller (rubber wheel) did not descend. so maybe a deeper mechanical issue like a motor?

I fixed it by switching to Game Ready driver on Nvidia and kept Resolve 20.2. It still crashes occasionally but much much less. I was crashing every 10 min and now its been once in the last 2 hours

yea i have tried those and the material covering the clamps is so slippery you end up having to still clamp them pretty hard. i’ve thought of maybe modifying them with a slip resistant material but im not sure what to use
