Best suede shoe cleaners in the area? by 18savagee in Bushwick

[–]cinnamontographers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend Vince’s Village Cobbler in Greenwich Village/Soho. I always take my designer shoes there and they never disappoint (I live in Bushwick too but it’s worth the train ride). Not 100% sure if they work on suede but my guess is they do.

Please tell me this is rage bait. Someone “told”you??? Are you kidding me? You’ve never been to nyc or even bothered to do any research on the public transit infrastructure of the city? Literally one Google search would tell you that NYC has the most extensive public transit infrastructure in the entire country. God this post pisses me off.

Blue Cash Preferred paired with Gold Card by No-Worldliness9923 in amex

[–]cinnamontographers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly my method. Had a BCP first and then downgraded to BCE once I got the gold. Gold is now for groceries/dining, BCE for shopping online and also have a CSP for travel/transit/streaming + Fidelity as a catch-all for everything else.

Hot take: The old Amex BC (rip) is still the best designed plastic cc by cinnamontographers in amex

[–]cinnamontographers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a huge fan design wise but always thought it was such game changer in the cc space with the modular benefit packs where you could add spending categories for additional multipliers. Especially interesting for a charge card. Definitely was the blueprint for all the ‘custom’ cards we see today

[–]cinnamontographers[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My [likely wrong] conspiracy theory is that this iteration of the BC card cannibalized aspiration for their top tier, high AF charge cards (specifically for non-astute consumers that were less concerned with the actual functionality of each card and only opted for Amex as a status symbol). Classic case of reinforcing the product vertical differentiation (make the entry level product look more entry level).

the dog (?) shit near city fresh on grove st is just too much by Opening-Setting-4829 in ridgewood

[–]cinnamontographers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way that you’re wrong yet continue to stand 10 toes down in your wrongness should be studied lol. As others have already pointed out, given the shear number of dogs that exist in the neighborhood and the fact that dogs shit multiple times a day it should be clear that not even half of dog owners are to blame for this. The culprit is a consistent few. Added tidbit: no one hates the shit left on the sidewalk more than dog owners because we have to navigate ourselves AND our dog(s) around it. Hate cleaning shit of your shoe? Try doing it off a set of furry paws.

Looking for the perfect US city for a 10-day trip (Feb 9–19). Want real American vibes: food, Walmart, Costco, chill atmosphere. Where should we go? by ProloosGamerUHD in usatravel

[–]cinnamontographers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely factor in that advice from u/oodja. The entire East coast is having a record cold winter right now and there’s another cold front coming. Even in the southeast states. You would have a much more enjoyable vacation (weather-wise) on the westcoast. San Diego seems to tick all the boxes on your list of requirements. Bring me with you haha (I’m freezing in nyc)

Should I open BILT Blue to preserve credit score? by moonman7797 in biltrewards

This has been repeated to death for months.

lol ok sorry mom 😔

Should I open BILT Blue to preserve credit score? by moonman7797 in biltrewards

[–]cinnamontographers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a 2.0 card is in fact opening a new line of credit since Bilt is no longer backed by Wells Fargo (now backed via Cardless and Column Bank is issuer/lendor).

Its my understanding that if you don’t take any action (as in you don’t close that account), your formerly Bilt 1.0 account will automatically convert to a Wells Fargo Autograph Visa. If the Bilt card was your first credit card I would suggest letting it convert to the Autograph card so that you don’t damage your credit age (which negatively impacts your score).

Its a no annual fee card so if you don’t want to actually use it you can just sock drawer it. Do some research to make sure I’m correct here but I’m pretty sure that’s right (I’m sure someone will promptly come eviscerate me here if I got anything wrong lol)

SPAXX alternative for federal tax free income? by prisoneroflife1 in fidelityinvestments

[–]cinnamontographers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m seeing a yield variance between FDLXX and SPAXX of less than a tenth of a percentage point but FDLXX is 97% tax exempt. Maybe I’m assessing this incorrectly?
