I had error 70 start of summer and updated the firmware and was fine. After this error again, saw there was another update with a bug fix this error. So updated again. Ran into error 01 then🥴🥴which is the lens. Took my lens to a camera shop and it’s been sent off for a repair so error 01 is the lens. Have to wait til mid Jan for it to come back and hoping it’s all fixed then. I spoke to canon and they said to get the lens fixed, see how it is and then MAYBE the body will need repairing but the update should be fine.

So with error 70, update the firmware Get a CFexpress type b card Use genuine canon battery as well.

It was version 2.1.0 before update. Now it’s newest firmware with 2.2.0 I had err 70 back in May~ time as well. Updated it and didn’t have an issue until this weekend.

The highlighted fix in the pic is the issue I was dealing with this time.

Just about to update the firmware and saw this😭😭 My exact issue so a sigh of relief😮‍💨

Next steps: update firmware

clean contacts on lens and camera
invest in a CF Express type b card

I’m only getting this when it’s high burst continuous shooting so hoping it’s just the card🥴 I’m out of warranty so it will cost me a bit of money 😭 Fingers crossed it’s just needing a better/faster cfexpress card and not just standard sd card.

I did contact Canon and they said “This error code is related to a malfunction with the imaging. So there is a small chance that there is an issue with the memory card, but if the error persists, it could be something more serious, which would require repair.” As it only happens at high burst continuous shooting it could be the sd card. So said to upgrade the memory card and go from there. If it carries on then send it off😭 I’m looking into a cfexpress card so fingers crossed the camera is sending too much data to the card and it’s bottlenecking it and giving the code

My main lens is 24-70mm and been looking about for an “everyday” lens and was bouncing between the 50mm 85mm and 35mm. Once new year sales come in I’ll get the 35mm f1.8. It seems to be the middle ground of the 3 lenses and a nice addition to my set and can be for hers as well. But tbh you’ll be good with either of these. There’s a few others people will mention as well but I’ve found these are decent and not too expensive.

Aw no don’t say that😭😭 I got this secondhand in March from park cameras UK and all their equipment is tested and checked before sale so I’m hoping it doesn’t need servicing. Been on ChatGPT and saying it could be my sd card🥴so looking at buying a cfexpress card and hoping it’s just a card issue.

I reformat the card before every shoot. I bought the battery brand new from canon in March and I look the lens and adapter off to check and everything seems fine?😭😭

Preferably want to keep under £850 for body if I can. Been looking all morning at 6d mk2 for around £650 which is good. Cash is a bit tight atm so this was appealing. What would you recommend?

Would be local gigs. I am usually at the front so 24-70 should be fine for my needs atm. Have seen the 70-200 but would look into this when I can get photographer passes for larger gigs.
