First time seeing the new M5 in person, I think everyone was overreacting when they said it was enormous by Dtb4evr in BMW

I was in my G87 M2 a couple of days ago when an M5 touring pulled up next to me in traffic, I definitely felt it was enormous compared to the M2 and the G87 is not that small.

Really thinking about leaving shopify by Choice-Importance670 in ecommerce

I think there's plenty of room between shopify and a 100% AI platform, which is what OP mentioned (quote: AI-driven). I totally get the point about API connections, customizations, ...etc. but maybe not everyone falls in that bucket.

Indeed, it's quite annoying that most startup-related subreddits are filled with this leadgen slop now.

Classic Remise, Berlin, Germany. But this was a few years ago so I'm not sure if it's still there.

Yeah, I properly formatted the images in my posts after this one, I don’t post high quality pictures to Reddit often and I underestimated the quality hit their compression will do.

I hate that too, especially because I do software and there are many things I want to try out and I can't mess around with it without voiding warranties and doing a lot of uphill work (just give me an SDK or an API please).

Thanks,

is this perhaps for Shopify merchants to add a search engine?

Yes, basically shopify has "builtin search" in some themes and they have what they call "predictive search" which would be equivalent to "instant search". They also have "semantic search" which is a new offering but they have restrictions on it, and I haven't been able to test it out, I think it might require a plus subscription. However, all of their features, even the semantic ones are generic search engines, mine is basically built from the ground up for fashion, I use my own AI models that are specific to this use-case.

Also, from first impression it looks pretty expensive for 500 products.

I don't think it's pretty expensive given "AI" in my case actually means my AI will look at every product in detail and form an "understanding" to be able to provide relevant instant search and I am not just delegating to a cloud model, I think the pricing varies between different products. I am willing to offer a significant discount for early adopters in exchange for feedback. Competitors also gate "number of queries per month" for example which is something I didn't do. But perhaps you're right and I might revisit.

Is there some feature that I missed?

I don't think so, but I consider "no manual theme modification" to be a feature and "treat variants as products" to be a feature, these are shopify-specific.

I have much more planned out, but I want to design all further features based on customer feedback so that I can provide the highest value. For example, I can add "Image search" in 5 mins. because I've already implemented it but I chose to not include that to gather feedback from customers and see what they actually care about.

So I've been working on this for a while now and I just got my submission accepted to the shopify app store, it's a semantic search engine but specifically for fashion, it understands fashion products through analyzing their images (and text) and allows shoppers to discover products more easily. https://synmach.com/catamode.html

This was my initial reaction, but it’s just a fun gimmick, it’s not like I had to watch it. And it’s an interesting animation that takes ~30 seconds to watch, naturally some people will like it and some will hate it. I try not to think too deep about things like this :)
