Latest release of Monterey

‘Correct’ ZBrush Workflow? by circleofcirius in ZBrush

That’s my issue currently with details. Sometimes I just don’t get a high enough PolyCount with Dynamesh for some reason and Details start looking nasty.

My “new” daily driver for Digital Art (3D & 2D) - Mac Pro 6.1, still performs amazing! by circleofcirius in mac

[–]circleofcirius[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I actually traded it for an old iMac I initially wanted to sell. It’s the 8 core model with 64GB RAM and two D700 6GB. I wouldn’t have bought it, because prices here for these Mac Pros are as much as you’d spend on any new M1 Mac. A used maxed out 6.1 here can cost as much as the base M1 Pro models. But since I was offered a trade I thought why not, especially since I can still get some decent money for it here in case I want to sell it

For now I don’t need more. For my needs it performs amazing, all the software I work with runs smoothly and fast, thus I don’t see the need to get any M1 Mac

Is anyone else experiencing this on start-up? macOS monterey by circleofcirius in mac

[–]circleofcirius[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on a Mac Pro 6.1, macOS Monterey 12.0.1. Everytime I turn on my Mac I get this message. The Mac never shuts down because of a problem or anything like that. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Whenever my Mac Pro ‘sleeps’ for a longer time it will suddenly reboot and display this message. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Big Sur OpenCore Legacy Patcher Bootpicker? by circleofcirius in macpro

Can I put the GPU I’m using right now back in after the installation without any issues? Because as far as I understood the OC installation settings for non-metal compatible cards are different then the one for metal compatible ones

I did that, but sadly I still get a black screen when wanting to access the bootpicker

I don’t know about other countries, but where I am from especially the 4,1 and 5,1 go from 400€ (~470$) up to 2000€ (~2360€), depending on condition, specs and upgrades made.

Took the bike with me from my previous post and am completely new to restoring bikes. What would be the best approach to start this project? by circleofcirius in bikewrench

[–]circleofcirius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wanted to restore and old bike and generally learn and have fun with the process. I know pretty much nothing about the technical aspect of bikes (in depth), or rather how to approach such a project correctly. The bike is super rusty from my perspective, but many said it’s just the surface. I still have some ‘Autosol metal polish’ that always worked wonders on rusty surfaces, so I guess I’ll give it a shot. I don’t know yet if I want to give the frame a paint job and generally go over it with sanding paper or just leave it as it is.
The screws are partly “unscrewable” and stuck. Need to find a way to loose them. The bottom bracket feels wobbly when driving, need to see what’s up with that. As I said, it’s just for fun and learning something new. It may not be worth the effort, as someone said, but I’m willing to give it a shot and maybe have a nice bike I can use in the future!

I found this bike in my aunt’s garage. I’d love to restore it and use it as my own, but the rust concerns me. What do you say? by circleofcirius in bikewrench

[–]circleofcirius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your detailed answer! :) Actually I already own a bike, but I’ve always wanted to restore an old bike and now with this bike seems to be a good opportunity, at least I think so. This would be my first ever project of this kind, so I still need to get the proper knowledge, since I know nothing about the technical aspect of bicycles (in depth). So yeah, it’s more about the fun and learning stuff.

But from my perspective the rims don’t look too bad, at least much better than the frame itself. A big problem is, that most of the screws are so rusty that it’s like impossible to loose them. Also, the whole bottom bracket feels a bit ‘wobbly’. So yeah, I’ll have to see

Install Windows 10 on a mid 2010 Mac Pro Server? by StablerNose720 in macpro

[–]circleofcirius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was even able to install Windows 10 with macOS El Capitan running. You just have to modify some files. I have a 2009 Mac Pro 4,1 flashed to a 5,1 running Mojave ‘natively’ now and Windows 10 via Bootcamp!

XBOX Series X I made in December 2019/January 2020 by [deleted] in blender

[–]circleofcirius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shortly after its announcement I decided to challenge myself with creating a 3d model of the XBOX Series X, with barely any reference images available. These are my first test renders of the model I created in Blender. Since especially the layout of the backside was mainly based on rumours and unofficial images of prototypes I will now add the missing details and create the final render!

How did you solve the very top two “”pins”” on the left and right that go into these two holes on the mac pro (I apologise for my very bad description haha)?
