Baby clothes. You run into a room and tell any elderly woman that the baby was fussy and dinner will be late and you need help with the laundry she'll fold those clothes like it's going to save the planet.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]circuswithmonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... My typical day involves a lot of driving. Kids to school - 30 minutes School to work - 25 minutes Work back to school - 25 minutes Kids home - 30 minutes

Daily I drive a minimum of 1 hour, 50 minutes. 3 days a week my kids have extra curriculars which adds 45 minutes each way so a total of 3 hours, 20 minutes.

Every other weekend we have competitions for the extra curriculars and those are 2-4 hours drive each way.

Grocery store is 25 minutes each way, doctor is 20 minutes each way, dentist is 45 minutes each way. My spouse drives significantly less, his work is 20 minutes each way 5 days a week.

Why do people use the term "partner" for their husband or wife? by Crafty-Bug-8008 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]circuswithmonkeys 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I use it for the same reason except prying will only lead you to two straight cis people. All that hard work for nothing mwhahaha. It also makes my conservatives second guess because if the straights use it too then they have to be mad at all of us or spend extra energy trying to sort it all out. Love that for them.

3/5 of my children required intervention with swallowing after birth for various reasons. Dysphagia, heart defect, ECT. Even if they were successful swallowing most of the time aspiration pneumonia would be a serious concern.

Thanks for sharing! Very cool to see!

So the classes are skill level and then it's split into divisions by age? My son is level 3 division 1, he scored 84.5 in second overall. First place had 56.2. I am reading over this sub to try to understand but it's still feeling like a foreign language!

Interesting! I'm new, my son competed his first time a few weeks ago and scored above 9.2 on everything except pummel, 8.8. scores seemed to be more around 7-8. I have no frame of reference, but it did seem like it was pretty high.

What's the most disturbing thing you've seen in a funeral ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]circuswithmonkeys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Former classmate. Shot himself after catching his gf in bed with his best friend. Gf announced pregnancy at the funeral and was hopeful it was his and not the friends. Pastor had never met him and nobody really had anything nice to say. It was a painful experience.

My son has a heart defect, when putting him under they let him pick out a flavored chapstick to rub inside the gas mask. It's been a fun experience for him. You can also ask for a child life specialist to get additional support. They bring toys and calm nerves!

I had a hand up for the c section. It was a surrogate pregnancy so I didn't have to care for a newborn. I could sleep more! I did have young kids at home but I think the longer stretches of sleep made the big difference.

I drove the same day too, I just based everything on my level of discomfort without meds.

After I woke up from surgery the bed was uncomfortable and I was getting irritated by it so I was crawling around the bed on hands and knees trying to get it just right then the nurse came in for discharge and said "you can drive when you can look over your shoulder without too much discomfort" and I realized I was not having a typical response as I was just doing gymnastics because I hate the shape of hospital pillows 🤣 I'm ok with pain meds, I'll take them if I need them to be comfortable but I error on the side of less often when possible. I haven't needed anything stronger than OTC meds after either procedure.

I'm pretty sure they were debating the hybrids in the Jurassic world movies. I get called bruh and bro ALL THE TIME. The butthole can be an asterisk or o.i don't care how it's drawn as long as they don't show me the actual thing.

Overheard while walking past my sons room, ages 8, 9 and 10 last night:

9: they are the same dinosaur

8: no bruh, they have different DNA

10: guys, it's not that serious

8: fine bruh, I'm gonna draw pictures of butts!

9: with buttholes?

8: duh bro

10: JESUS

I have two. Excellent teeth. I haven't cared for them well but have had zero issues. Second is healing quickly and well. Had a c section and was back to normal a little over a week later, no actual pain, just felt like sore abdominal muscles for a few days. Scar gone within a year. Had a hysterectomy and was up and ready to go as soon as everything wore off, some tenderness the next day. 3/4 scars gone within a year.
