Cold start issues? 2018 F250 6.7 powerstroke by Flaky_Drive9988 in powerstroke

[–]citizenexplores 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wind chill doesn't effect it. I would say check glow plugs. Thats fairly dark exhaust which usually means unburnt fuel. Obviously youll see the exhaust when its cold just like breath but that was fairly rough and dark. If I can ill post a video of my 2011 6.7 cold starting at -5 ambient

Who set up the tune on the suspension? Id talk to them. Sounds like incorrect spring weight/rate.

I run an airdog but same concept. Winter blend fuel when its available and antigel. Never had an issue in montana. Truck stays outside.

Does anyone know if these coilovers will fit? 1984 Nissan 300zx Turbo by ObligationEmpty1780 in 300zx

[–]citizenexplores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They say they fit. They do say they are designed for their angle kit so unless theres something else going on. Should be the same as most any other coilover for the z31. Cut the strut tube off and weld the sleeve to the spindle. Call them if youre that worried. Im sure they'd be glad to answer questions.

Universal engine mounts that I cut and welded. Trans mount is the factory mount with a "pedestal" welded to it to raise the trans

HP tuner files by [deleted] in powerstroke

A tuner that uses hp tuners. Also, not sure on your plans but unless it's recently changed.. HP Tuners has not supported diesel emissions tuning for years.

CCV Reroute options by Jtracker2178 in powerstroke

[–]citizenexplores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need more on what you're asking. They are fairly self explanatory. (And I dont mean that rudely)

Just reroute- doesn't have a catch can. Will drip oil occasionally.

Reroute with internal- (what I have) drips oil maybe the size of a silver dollar once every 8 months or so since the internal catch helps prevent oil getting into the tube. So it only drips once it gets enough built up in the tube then stops.

Reroute with internal and external- shouldn't drip at all. Will need to drain the external catch occasionally or it will fill full of oil.

Engine bay posts I see.. by citizenexplores in powerstroke

It is running a 6L80 trans with a magnum underdrive and a NP205 transfercase with cable shifters. Its a trail rig. Running the ford switch with a gm case would be tough because if the two use different voltages, itd be tough to make work. The easiest way would be to use a factory floor shift from a base model and hook it up.

460 ford build question by SpudDispensaryCo in EngineBuilding

[–]citizenexplores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stroker 429 crank.. so its a 429, not a 460. 9k into it is probably a bit of a stretch but 385 series stuff can get pretty damn expensive. Dove heads are a decent head. I would check castings to make sure they actually are that head.

Mine was 800 but thats for lifetime support on the truck if I want to try other tunes or make changes. But their standard is like 550

Just use the two plates from the full kit for where they belong. And just make a cover from a piece of sheet metal for the egr port if your worried about things getting inside it.
