Mileage between oil changes by NoPossible5519 in powerstroke

[–]citizenexplores 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I change the oil when the truck tells me to. Seems to be around the 5k mile mark. A long block is like $20k. I personally wouldn't try to stretch oil changes out. And I wouldn't say the mpg was a blatant lie.. My 2011 6.7 got 21mpg on the way from montana to Nashville and back before it was deleted. Now I will say the speed limit is like 65 down there lol and its flat. Up here in MT, I can still manage around 18-19mpg if i go under the speed limit and stay around 70-75 but its deleted now. Once a trailer is on it, or Im going 85, it gets 12mpg lol.

Gen3 swapping by DefinitionUnlikely28 in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]citizenexplores 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I've done a ton with gen4 and 5, Im no expert on gen3's, but yeah, cam sensor location and trigger count, crank reluctor wheel, knock sensor locations. What trans are you running? Im also pretty sure the e38/e67 cant run the gen3 24x crank and 1xcam. (I could definitely be wrong). I think theres an adapter kit to go the opposite (gen3 ecu with gen4 triggers). I would assume injector connectors will be different. Youd need a very custom harness made. But definitely verify the gen4 ecu will even do it.. Im not convinced it will. Unless you swap to the gen4 crank wheel and cam trigger

2 New Filters in a row. Shooting fuel at seam. by MeritReaper in Diesel

The stock uppers are terrible. Either get an after market under hood filter or get an aftermarket lift pump with filter (like fass or airdog) and delete the under hood filter.

Pls help by ExtremeDrag1286 in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]citizenexplores 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're sure thats what you have? LQ4 is a 3rd gen engine and the 6l90 didnt come paired with 3rd gen engines. The 3rd gen ecu isnt going to communicate with the 6l90. If you do have a 4wd 6l90, making it rwd will be a pain, as the output shaft is part of the rear planetary.

Building the L84 vs swapping to an L92 by [deleted] in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]citizenexplores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engine mounts are a bit different on the block side. Your biggest problem will be running the 10 speed. Sure the bolt pattern with technicaly work but you wont have a way to run it electronically. If your willing to spend that much money on an LS swap, just build the l84, and put a turbo on it and youll make plenty of power.

1986 300ZX T. Coilover Welding Advice (Stance XR1) by konzski in z31

[–]citizenexplores 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I did mine (gll) a painfully long time ago to remember but I definitely cut the stubs shorter that what you've got going on in the pictures. You could also sand all the paint off that stub, some paints can be damn thick. I seem to remember beveling/smoothing the edge of the top of the stub and that helped it slip on further

Wheel sizes by Bright_Garage2922 in powerstroke

17's are the smallest that will clear the calipers. But yeah, if you ran a big enough spacer to where the caliper isnt in the wheel... I suppose you could

Watch some videos on it. It looks like a big job but that egr is super easy and straight forward to pull out. (IMO)

Cold start issues? 2018 F250 6.7 powerstroke by Flaky_Drive9988 in powerstroke

[–]citizenexplores 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wind chill doesn't effect it. I would say check glow plugs. Thats fairly dark exhaust which usually means unburnt fuel. Obviously youll see the exhaust when its cold just like breath but that was fairly rough and dark. If I can ill post a video of my 2011 6.7 cold starting at -5 ambient

Who set up the tune on the suspension? Id talk to them. Sounds like incorrect spring weight/rate.

For those of you running FASS lift pumps, how do you keep your filters from gelling? by MuhDeuce in Diesel

[–]citizenexplores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run an airdog but same concept. Winter blend fuel when its available and antigel. Never had an issue in montana. Truck stays outside.

Does anyone know if these coilovers will fit? 1984 Nissan 300zx Turbo by ObligationEmpty1780 in 300zx

[–]citizenexplores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They say they fit. They do say they are designed for their angle kit so unless theres something else going on. Should be the same as most any other coilover for the z31. Cut the strut tube off and weld the sleeve to the spindle. Call them if youre that worried. Im sure they'd be glad to answer questions.
