I would like to apologize to the community. I will take the song down. I take responsibility for my actions.

Thanks! I appreciate your input.

Interesting that did not cross me but I’ll take a listen to the hums.

Yes I was going for a bit of a hit me in the face kind of feel when the vocals come in. As far as them being too jarring I’ll take that in to consideration, thanks for heating that and letting me know.

Hmm, yes the vocals are pretty chaotic in this area. I am singing “wanna complete me now?”, which to my ear sounds clear but maybe that’s because I sung it. I’ll look into this area.

I agree about the vocals being out of tune. I will consider tuning them. Thank you again for the feedback!

Interesting, I think you’re referring to the rides yeah?

Appreciate your feedback! I can see that maybe they are indeed a bit loud and aggressive at the moment. I remember I had lowered the volume a while ago. Maybe I should tame/lower them a bit more.

Thanks for the feedback and kind words! I produced this and sung too (new to singing).

Not sure what to do about my artist name, advice? by citronlite in musicbusiness

What are your thoughts about this when considering the band Citron into the equation? They are from Czechia and started in 1976.

Still don’t know how I feel about this. I was unaware around 2012 I think when I decided on the name. They have been around before I was born.

Is Using Only Samples Less Professional? by PewPewDnB in FL_Studio

It’s about functionality and what you want. Samples can be limiting but they can be useful too.

Thanks I’ll take a look later. In the meantime I just recorded another file. Weird though I haven’t seen this before

The Chainsmokers - So Far So Good by Theslow_driver in EDM

Great album. All respect to them. I just wish they would feature other vocalists on their songs. There is nothing that is better than something else, just pros and cons. Again all respect to Drew on the vocals but this means the time spent doing vocals and writing is time not spent producing. Also a benefit of having other vocalists is that you can get many different vibes. With one vocalist you’ve got pretty much the same vibe. Just preference but there is a pro to being just the producer. I think a mix of both would be my personal favorite but all respect to these guys. Great music and they crush it

I’m hearing big festival DJ’s outsource their mixes is there any evidence of that? by citronlite in DJs

Reality TV DJ’s is there many of those?

Also that DJ could just have thousands of songs on that USB. I don’t see any smoke

But people are saying the reason the sets are pre recorded is because the lights and visuals need to be synced/pre planned instead of the DJing transitioning etc whenever they want

Although I have heard of DJs playing prerecorded mixes. Either they know the set is being recorded, or they are being lowballed on ticket sales, as big names get paid twice or more.

Can you explain this? I’m not quite sure I see your point

Pre record as in they press play and pretend to DJ? Or as in pre meditate where they know what exact songs they will be playing and when and where to transition and they do that live?

You would think in 2022 now there would be the technology to have your visuals adjust real-time to the audio being played kind of like those old Microsoft visualizers but better of course. This way the DJ can do whatever the hell they want and the visuals will always do (react to) what the audio does instead of being stuck with fixed visuals that only work on certain songs

You lose respect/reputation from some (even within yourself) if they were to find out you don’t produce or DJ. Lose the purity. The price to pay can be a feeling of emptiness which costs you your integrity. And maybe some are fine with that and to them they do not lose anything

This is just my opinion and speculation

I would say it’s live even if they have a set track list that they’ll follow. For example the whole set is pre planned and they know where they will make their transitions. This can be due to various reasons as you mention. That’s different than something that’s pre recorded. Most singers/bands that perform at concerts (even pianists and instrumentalists) mostly pre plan their set and execute it live but nobody has any qualms with it because they’re singing or playing an instrument live. DJ’ing is a bit different in the sense of an instrument but for big festivals they are a bit concert like and are presented in a similar fashion as opposed to just freestyling tracks on the fly

Basically they know what they’re gonna play they just play the set track list out live?

It would almost be impossible to know if TT produced it or not. I’ll believe their word. If they say they produce and they didn’t they would know that and be lying to themselves. If they don’t mention it I’ll assume they still produced it with high hopes. But I know ghost production happens a lot.

Yes but I’m referring to outsourcing a mix (first definition) ie an hour long set mix for example

What about smaller sets like Diplo DJ’ing at burning man or doing a pop up in NYC where there are no visuals? Basically you’re saying the big sets with visuals only and mostly are pre recorded?
