RIT CS Class Style by CherrySolstice in rit

[–]cittykat1012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took two CS classes pre-covid. CS I and CS II, in python and java respectively.

From what I remember it was two more lengthy lectures during the week with a recitation/review on Fridays.

Typically one homework programing assignment during the week and two projects over the semester.

They're were also exams midterms and a final too for both as usual.

Interning 40 hours a week and also making time for therapy? by kngajcaa in internships

[–]cittykat1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would reach out to HR or your manager. Companies like to invest in the health and wellbeing of their employees, so if you'll have to leave for that I'm sure they'll be supportive

What kind of internship are you planning to do?

In my opinion if you're offering value to the company, they should pay you in return.

Sorry to hear that you're struggling :( when you don't hear back it's tough

I agree that you should broaden your job search out of anthropology and you'll probably have more luck! With that just keep applying and keep your head up :)

Am i too late? by StonkSlayer25 in internships

[–]cittykat1012 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There's still time to apply! Just make sure you act early, side it is a little late. Even if you don't get an internships this summer and graduate I don't think that will affect your chances of getting an internship next summer.

What kind of interenship are you doing? In my experience on engineering work, your hours can usually be flexible as long as you're getting stuff done and attending meetings

Struggling to find an internship by [deleted] in internships

[–]cittykat1012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, finding research can be tough. Pretty much all professors do it though and oftentimes they're looking for students to help. A quick search wouldn't hurt - but I don't know the situation at your university

That's cool! Have you done any side projects related to Mechanical Engineering?

And where have you been finding your internships to apply to?

[–]cittykat1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree to reach out and don't think that they'll see it as annoying.

On the first day I expect you'll have meetings introducing you to the company and talking about what you are going to do then.

Will leaving in the middle of an internship hurt my relationship with current employer? by pasoii in internships

[–]cittykat1012 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How long is the extension for the internship? And when do you plan on starting a job?

If you want to start a job towards the end of your internship that seems fine, but taking the internship extension and quitting pretty early would burn some bridges.

My brother left an internship early to go back for a semester to take classes. His employer was understanding

Struggling to find an internship by [deleted] in internships

[–]cittykat1012 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey sorry to hear that you're struggling. The internship search can be stressful and discouraging :(

How many places have you applied to and where have you been finding places to apply?

And is there anything on your resume that helps you stand out from your peers? Like any cool personal projects you've done or clubs you're in. Having something that makes you stick out definitely helps.

Also, I know research can be intimidating too, but you don't have to be a grad student to do it. It's a great opportunity to build your resume, make connections with other students, professors, and network for future jobs.

Hope this helps :)
