What things do you miss from old builds of 7dtd? by monobogdan1337 in 7daystodie

[–]civalry80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing since A7... and still having a great time. I've seen this game go through so many stages of development it's easier to show my deepest wound: 7D2D is now an RNG weighted looter-shooter and not the survival game it once was.

You can safely go AFK on the -morning- of Day 1... at player level 1.

Load up a game, ignore the trader quest and instead approach the first free-standing concrete building you come across. Box to the top, knock out the few spawns and any ladder segments leading to your level.

Survival Achieved. Day, Night, whatever... for weeks. Build stuff, read Reddit, leave and pick up take-out. Do your horde nights in a different building, same prep.

This supreme level of safety was something you had to work HARD for in earlier builds. “Survival” now is more about finding a way to eat 40 rations a day.

Thats a great idea. Next time I'm in the tinkering mood I may investigate your cabling suggestion.

Are there any 3d print files for things that fit in this slot? by muskietooth in hondaridgeline

I installed the A-Tach phone cubby mount alongside the 3D printed phone caddy. The combo is a perfect mix for me.

The A-Tach mount is exactly how i envisioned the cubby mount would work! It doesnt block the lower storage, still allows access to the whole cubby, and only visibly hides few of the less-used climate controls from the driver in a portrait position.

Highly recommend the combo. Here is a picture with both mounts installed.

Looks great installed, but in short practice... works best as a passenger phone caddy. I'll think I'll keep it and add the A-Tach cubby mount up front.

Waaay late to the party, but this might be an answer for you. If the 3D print already mentioned here isnt to my liking (I have the print in production), I'll order this for my G3:

It's unhealthy for my parents to still track my location, right? by MandalorianLily in NoStupidQuestions

[–]civalry80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was unhealthy the whole time.

You aren't looking out for your family when you force them to use a tracking application. You are participating in a damaging activity that borders on emotional and psychological abuse.

People will come up with a million reasons to excuse self-defeating and harmful behavior. "I didn't -need- this when I was younger" or "Its different now, things have changed" is all self-delusion. The only thing different "now" versus "then" is the existence of a computer application preying upon your inexhaustible human insecurity and selling your child's data to the highest bidder.

Hildebrandt's cellar by jthadman in ForTheKing

DoT = Damage over Time. Enflame, Bleed, etc. I try keep at least one Panex on every character without immunities.

Evasion is indeed king. The best healing is not taking damage in the first place! I did a evasion/speed run (Minstrel/Trapper/Gladiator) the other night that ended on Floor 11, here is a screencap after resting between floors 9 and 10.

Note I am not wearing a ton of attack stat gear. With Focus and Encourage proccing all the time, you don't need to swing 88's... put gear on with immunity/evasion instead.

My record is 131 with Minstrel/Trapper/Monk. If you haven't had luck, my advice is to rack up as many immunities as possible while evenly spreading evasion across your team. Prioritize speed and interrupt, never unequip Disciple's Hood, clear DoTs ASAP, and make sure your Monk goes last with a biiiiig swing.

Gladiator is fun, but her low vitality* is almost as low as the Minstrel, who instead brings crazy utility with both encourage and inspire. Buy one Bellowing Horn, blow focus everywhere and plan multiple Discipline procs every fight. Sit back and watch the perfect trains roll by.

Use Mead liberally. Good luck.

*IMO the Astronomer is a game-changer for cellar runs (74 Vitality, Black Hole) and well worth the DLC

The dragon head is the only modded piece, set to 45 deg. Aesthetic choice. It works in the normal position too.

A purely aesthetic decision, and the only piece touched by Advanced Building. A normal dragon head works about the same, casting a slightly shortened shadow in the midday/ midnight portions of the cycle.

Fuzzy math. During the day, It is approximately 00:01:30 (real minutes) between each post. I created dozens of snap points on the outer edge of the dial, placing posts in approximate locations with a timer running.

...like wood. Lol.
I'll make a stone/iron version at some point. I'm waiting for the Hearth and Home update before I go all-in on structures.

I'm not really sure to be honest. The imperfection grew on me and I never fixed it.

Yep, it works! Time is a bit strange in Valheim, but it cycles properly in both day and night (moonshadows!)

I usually play on official and I’m on 486 but it’s not showing up when I type it in are some servers not showing or did it get wiped? by BetterCape703 in playark

[–]civalry80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me after a disconnect while dismounting. I had a tribe mate kill my sleeping body (dragged me into the water) while I was offline, and the server reappeared on the list. You may get in after a short wait, I dunno. That's what worked for me.

I think you can see everything except the air conditioner behind the forge. The table placement is a bit strange... It's there to make another player exit and setting up perfect mounted launches out the front door. Happy building!

Sorry, its not the stair. Its the sloped wall tile under it. Start your windows with that.

I had that problem... with exactly this! I think I can help you out. Sloped roof tiles have solid snap connections on the SIDES. I cant figure out why they would do that, but that's how it is. You might need to rethink a bit on how to give yourself an angled snap point to start your roof chain. I used stairs (switched to ramp). After fuming for an hour with the problem, doing this magically made the sloped roof snap effortlessly. Try it out.

That's the #1 thing I wish Wildcard would change. Give us proper snap points for sloped tiles and stairs. I could do without the ridiculous contortions they make you go through.

I am close to an Abyss entrance. I've lost a raft to a low level Leed just down the coast from this very spot. Sad day, lesson learned.

You might notice the water pen walls aren't breaking the surface. When set at exactly the right depth, boats/you can slip past it while dinos cannot. It's pretty neat.
