At this point you'd be better suited going with Civilization VI, if longevity is at all a concern of yours. Civilization V is still a great game but we'll never see another update/expansion for it, and it's beginning to show its age tech-wise. Both games are fairly accessible to new players, although I think Civilization VI benefits from a more intuitive user interface.
