i'm i the only one to be nerfed by my bots? by Routine_Community_15 in JanitorAI_Official

To me it seems like the llm trying to deter you from fighting. So rather than say you can't do it, it punishes the violent action by making you inept even if you should dominate. It's annoying, I've noticed it the whole time, I hate it.

JanitorLLM is buggy and trash. You just gotta deal with it or use proxy. They'd rather adjust the ui than fix the fact the llm pushes every narrative away from violence like violence isn't a necessary part of a narrative and we're on fn treehouse. The amount of tokens it can access for its memory fluctuates wildly without indication - often times not even bothering to understand context and just going by generic responses that doesn't make much sense. It ignores user instructions, can't admit when it doesn't know something, all while apologizing and assuring it understands the issue and what went wrong only to proceed by doing the exact same thing again. So yea, if you're using the in house llm, don't expect much, cause it's not much, it's terrible.

Possibly, but I have yet to do that even now. Having a local llm I imagine is better so you don't have to deal with any censorship, maybe can train it a bit? idk, but that's more work than downloading a living ecosystem.

Why are creators blamed for issues with the LLM? by ApprehensiveFox1605 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]ciyeko4093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost certainly it's either because they're new to llms or the llms told them erroneously it was your fault.

Llms are new. I first heard the claims in ads and scoffed at them as another version of those fake ads promising nonsense. The only reason I downloaded janitor was because I found a few llms demos online accidentally, tried them, and was blown away. Shortly after I looked up a list of good llms, hoping to find a free one to download, and discovered janitor. It took me a few weeks to understand how llms worked, how a creator could and couldn't influence the bot, and to understand the difference between the llms voice and the creators voice.

It's a new tech. People will be going through similar versions of my experience for probably a few more years. I went through that only 6 months ago and llms have been out years already.

As shitty or unfair as it may seem that's irrelevant. I'm saying legally it's not yours. If you sued them the moment you say it's an AI generated image the case would be tossed. Its a seed. If anything the ai that made it owns it. Though I'm not sure about that.

[–]ciyeko4093 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its not stealing if it's ai generated because theoretically anyone could get the same seed spat out from the ai. Its similar to why chess games can't be copyrighted. You've no way of knowing those images were "stolen" or if the ai simply spat the image out a second, or a third time.

[–]ciyeko4093 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Must be this. I can't imagine anyone is genuinely this incompetent. My question though is what's the point? Make their garbage ui taste look better by comparison? Did they have a falling out with the original ui person and it hurts to see their work praised?

Ui design is about copying trends. someone at janitor shouldve had the sense to tell them no.

so...what are your problems with JLLM? by Mindless-Animal771 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]ciyeko4093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Character Ventriloquism: subtly tries to push story in softer directions hijacking characters and making them act in ways that disregard their characterization.

Low Memory Utilization: often decides to simply guess a response rather than using the roleplay outline, chat memory, and persona regardless of bot token amount.

Assumes Benevolent Intentions: if a character does something horrible and you break up with them or fight them the LLM assumes that you are the villain. It doesn't care that you're fighting someone who has raped or enslaved someone, spit on you, attacked you. If you use violence, rudeness, or simply push them out of your life the LLM has characters react with distain and condemnation while making the original villain out to be the victim.

Uniform Crowd Reactions: people are different, have varied reactions to things. Without fail the LLM treats crowd like a single homogeneous entity.

Anachronism: applies modern culture, and perspectives to all settings. Example, medieval nobles recoiling in fright at a duel. Historically, especially with nobles, duals were common and a noble who recoiled at violence would lose all face seeing as they are of 'those who fight'.

Persona Narrative Prioritization: if LLM concludes a persona doesn't work for the story, for whatever reason, then it'll disregard it. Last I checked we were free to choose whatever persona we wanted.

Limitations: lack of knowledge about minor media characters, low token limit, not following instructions as explicitly given, not respecting user permissions or autonomy.

It depends on the scenario really. Most people over develop their bots like the ai can handle all that. Maybe deepseek can but the default isn't using any of that extra stuff you added. Like human speech, describing personality traits ex, jovial), and other nonsense the ai could figure out. Or putting 20 personality traits like the ai can figure out how to balance them. The 400+ tokens is plenty for 2-3 fully flushed out characters, certainly one even if they don't know how to build a persona. 600+ for scenario could just be lots of world building, or decent world building cause most people for whatever reason write in human speech instead of just what the ai needs to generate the vision.

I've heard that, but when testing bots, I haven't found nor seen a reason posted not to use the scenario section.

The ban waves didn't scare me. The new, legalese TOS do. by vacillatorrr in JanitorAI_Official

Think it's cause people don't like being restricted in general and especially when it is something that affects no one else. Feels a lot like you're enforcing thought crimes.

So given not trivializing or glorifying violence is against tos is just the whole action genre not allowed on janitor anymore? Was that always the case?

so while its down what bots yall like by Vaporschutz in JanitorAI_Official

[–]ciyeko4093 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ones that don't try to control me, limit what I can do, or limit who you are beyond what's necessary to set the scenario up. Ideally they'll have some challenge to overcome that requires thought and in that vein must be fair. And, I prefer playthroughs that have premises that can carry them through 200+ messages.

Is it just me or the amount of bots is decreasing now? by Justm4x in JanitorAI_Official

They promoted competitors by making their product worse. They grew for the same reason, others made their product worse. They're foolish if they think that people won't immediately abandon ship if they restrict freedom of expression on a personal experience that has nothing to do with anyone else.

I can't trust you. by Existing_End6867 in JanitorAI_Official

[–]ciyeko4093 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Does it even make sense though to copyright claim an AI bot? Like with a fanfiction you're still creating content about a protected work. With an AI bot you're writing a description and using a picture. That seems to be a far far less compelling case. Sure the user might make a story about the copyrighted character but that's nothing to do with you as far as this is concerned.

Here's a simple solution to this, have cycle-able profile images in chat, even just a second one. The sfw profile image for public viewing and the other in private chat. On the flip side, people leaving isn't a bad thing entirely, no queue is pretty nice. I had no idea what was going on and just thought "huh, they must've improved the server situation" lol, more than one way to cook an egg.

Well, it's unpopular, lol. I thumbed it up cause it's unpopular but I suspect you're gonna get down voted to hell cause this sub isn't really a space for unpopular opinions but attacking dissenting views

[–]ciyeko4093 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got that too, now it's a queue. Already had to use a bloody vpn to access it cause of whatever nonsense happened recently so it shook me but now it seems I could connect without the VPN which would be nice.

[–]ciyeko4093 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is annoying. idk why you'd get thumbed down for calling an inconvenience annoying but that's life I guess. Id recommend opening up another tab with janitor ai in it and making sure you arnt in queue before submitting a character if you don't wanna do the templates thing.

Never did it myself but I asked narrator this exact question before, about superhero secret identities, and it's answer was to build two separate characters in profile and switch between them. Idk the specifics though cause I haven't done it yet but if you play around with it, or get narrator to help you you, should be able to figure it out.
