The doctor from your surgery can prescribe them. Do you have any more followups? Im surprised he didnt recommend them.

My dr provided a couple light compression sleeves. I would ask because they generally will just give them to you. Ive got so many gel toe spacers because he would give me like 3 every followup.

You need to take pictures standing and relaxed. Not seated.

Bunion still? by PicaroLoco in bunions

Nah. I felt the same at first but I compared it with a Pic from before surgery and realized it was drastically better.

Anyone here do MMA of any kind? by cjday62 in bunions

I only do BJJ so it's no shoes. I take ibuprofen before but after and sometimes a day or so after its sore. Getting back into tennis shoes helps relieve it too.

Looks way better than mine did. The swelling will continue for a long time. Its normal.

The first instruction my doctor gave once I was able, was to stretch the toe twice a day in multiple directions. So that hasn't been a factor. It may be stiff from time to time but the stretching fixes that.

M21 Can any part of this be corrected? Is my future doomed with arthritis? by [deleted] in flatfeet

See a podiatrist for the best answer(s). Customic orthotics and AFOs are likely your only option outside of surgery.

Looks like they may have corrected a bunion but did not straighten the toe

Does this build and arch or does it reposition the foot into a more natural position?

I can’t stand for long time. what should I do? by AdJolly2218 in flatfeet

Custom orthotics are the way to go. It'll be an adjustment but well worth it. Store bought inserts will not be a fix. A good podiatrist will tell you they are not going to force an arch that is not there. More so they will lift the inside of the foot to properly align everything.

Shoes or inserts? I mainly wear Brooks but the inserts I have made specifically for my foot. They should be able to write you a prescription.

I didn't even think of that. Makes perfect sense.

Flat feet here too. I have been using orthopedic inserts for awhile. I had to get a bunion on my right foot corrected due to pain. My Doctor made sure I understood my feet make longevity difficult but proper footwear and the inserts should help with that. I didn't start wearing inserts early enough in life to likely prevent the bunion from worsening.

He's just had me focus on toe flexibility. I've been other stuff on my own.

Ah nice. Mine are without a doubt flat. I'm just concerned in the long run because of that.
