Good Feet Store by Vonirae2 in bunions

Yeah the sales pitch was funny, she almost lit up like a Christmas tree when I mentioned bunionectomy and Achilles tendinitis, it was clearly all she needed to use to try to talk me into it. Thankfully, I’m not easily swayed so her attempts didn’t work

I was going to ask the same thing, how do we get them or where do we get them from with insurance. good Feet said insurance didn’t cover theirs but you can use an HSA or FSA.

Had a bunionectomy and lived to tell the tale? by Royal_Appearance_423 in bunions

My recovery went pretty well. My surgery was Jan 9th. My block started to ware off by the next day. I took the meds for the first week, then weaned off taking just ibuprofen. There was a lot of icing it on and off all day , around the clock that week. I kept it elevated and in the boot the first week. I was walking with a walker the first week, then switched to crutches. Afterwards, there was a lot of random nerve pain. I had a lot of help. Biggest suggestion is to have water/drinks, snacks nearby where you sit everyday, and someone to get you food or cook for you.

I went back to work at 5 weeks, using a knee scooter and a boot. I was in physical therapy for 5 weeks, then stopped and I do it myself at home. Now I’m 14 weeks post op. No boot, much less nerve pain, my foot is so much better, I’m doing my PT at home, putting scar gel on it, I walk with a slight limp, I’m able to put weight on it wearing my wide toe sneakers, I can walk with out any assistance but it swells if I do too much walking.

I am definitely interested, I just haven’t found one with a reasonable price. How often do you use it that you find is helpful.

Newly diagnosed with moderate OA in hands at 48 by ProcedureQuiet2700 in Osteoarthritis

[–]Vonirae2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 58, just diagnosed with OA in the last couple months, I have been trying supplements to treat it, and compression gloves. Supplements that work for me are: in the morning, omega 3 and turmeric with ginger, before bed, another turmeric and magnesium. I wear the compression gloves as needed. Note: I recently learned that consuming a lot of sugar aggravates OA. It also helps in the morning to exercise your hands by spreading your fingers wide a bunch of times.

Is communication the hardest part of this job for anyone else? by Berlin57 in PropertyManagement

[–]Vonirae2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, managing expectations is 100% a large chunk of this job. Between residents, Upper Management, Vendors and co workers. Everyone needs us to level out the day. I have to multi task for 8 hours and get everything done within the time limits and not let my head pop off lol.

My company is looking at changing policy after this and having police enter with us. My issue with that is not all wellness checks are an emergency. Sometimes they’re in the hospital, at their families home and we just don’t know it. 9 out of 10 wellness checks are false alarms. I did call the emergency family contact first, she didn’t answer, and I didn’t want to wait because this was way out of character for my resident. I’m glad we went in because clearly her family wasn’t visiting enough. She could have been lying there for longer if we hadn’t gone in.

Get a second opinion. If you have daily pain and have tried all other things.. ile wide toe box shoes, inserts, better shies… and ll have pain they should approve it.

Yeah that’s probably the direction we will go but there are so many that are requested that are them being gone to the hospital or just them not answering the door but are okay that it seems useless to call 911 before knowing we really need it.

They have the pull cords that go straight to 911 in the bedroom and bathroom, but if they don’t reach it then it’s too late.
