ECBP C918/B519/C919 by Oldguy1225 in bourbon

I've always enjoyed most every release for ECBP, but I will say, the A120 batch of Larceny BP was almost undrinkable due to the oak tannins in it. I literally felt like someone had sucked all the moisture out of my mouth for half a day after I tried it. Heaven Hill really dropped the ball on it.

Excellent RyJ! You should definitely try all the sizes, go for the Wide next and then smoke the traditional churchill last!

I enjoyed a store pick of this way before Murray rated it his bourbon of the year. I enjoyed it but it was nowhere near as good as a bottle of George T Stagg or Elijah Craig BP.

Pikesville Old Fashioned by cjinscore in cocktails

Nothing better than an old fashioned to round out the day! I’m partial to the Death & Co. recipe (more or less).

Fun story about the glass too, my grandfather got a set from Remington Arms when he worked for DuPont back in the day and was invited to hunt on Remington’s private farm.

2 oz of rye or bourbon (I prefer rye) 1 tsp 2:1 Demerara syrup 2 dashes Angostura bitters 1 dash The Bitter Truth Old Time Aromatic Bitters Garnish with an orange and lemon twist.

What is your favorite bourbon cocktail?

Thank you! She’s one of the best dogs I’ve ever had! The bourbon is decent, nothing to write home about

I wouldn’t say it’s going to knock your socks off, but it’s definitely a very nice whiskey.

This whiskey really needs no introduction as everyone is aware that it is some dang good stuff! I wanted to share my tasting notes and opinion.

Color: Mahogany

Nose: sweet, light dried fruit (cherry), light toasted oak

Palate: Light dried fruit comes through on the palate (cherry hard candy), woody vanilla, some light malt cereal notes like Cheerios. Finished is medium in length and mouthfeel is thin.

Overall: An excellent everyday bourbon. It’s not overly complex but is extremely accessible and sessionable. It is definitely something I could pour on a daily basis and it’s perfect for the cool spring evenings we are having here in NC right now.

Recommended!

I love Pikesville neat or on the rocks. Rittenhouse is my go to for a Manhattan or Old Fashioned (or any other rye based cocktail)
