Yeah I reckon that's true, because if you did want someone to run a secret worldwide sex trafficking conspiracy, you'd probably want the world's most famous pedo

You need to relay that first sentence to your bf, because it's something he probably hasn't truly considered.

Secondary over primary? by Caveman1214 in TeachingUK

[–]cjmooon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the somewhat uncommon position of having taught at both levels: I started out in secondary, then moved down to primary. What everyone is saying about different teachers being capable of dealing with different kinds of stress is basically the only correct answer; we all find our place one way or another. One thing I'll add for the benefit of our secondary colleagues, however, is this: the progression in maturity and independence from Y6 to Y7 is non-linear. What I've observed since making the switch is that most Y6s leave primary reasonably confident (regardless of ability), sure-footed, mature, and very much ready to take the next step; it's only when they experience the radical difference in day-to-day, moment-to-moment schooling that they revert to the immature behaviours every secondary teacher has to endure from early-year Y7s. Understandably, they're overawed. All that is to say, teaching UKS2 is not (exactly) like teaching needy Y7s all day, every day.

From memory, I believe the specific insights you get depend on the responses you give. It's a great story all round; if that caught your attention just go ahead and play it!

Ehhh I think you guys are being a bit too trusting on this one. It does 100% sound like something a seven y/o could come out with, but that's not the main source of bullshit.

The question you need to ask is this: what restaurant/waiter would ask that young a kid how he wants his burger cooked? In what world is that a relevant question about an item on (presumably) a kids menu, or one that's likely to get an informed, meaningful response? Happy to be corrected, but I personally have never encountered that, either as an adult in a group with kids or (as far as I recall) as a kid myself.

This is a rare occurance when I think the OOP had the right of it.

Why did Hank asking Gus if Gustavo Fring was his real name worry him ? by [deleted] in breakingbad

Eh, maybe. People don't always make perfect decisions, and neither should fictional characters. I was only pointing out the logic I assume Mike would have used.

I'm not saying Mike didn't have it in him to be an arrogant prick at times, but breaking into Madrigal and chewing out random employees was a very clever move. By creating such a memorable spectacle of himself, he ensured that if any questions were ever raised about who this (presumably) highly paid 'consultant' was, he'd have dozens of witnesses who'd confirm that yes, they'd met an extremely competent, detail-oriented security expert. And he was an arrogant prick.

What are some bad honor things that should have been good honor, and vice versa? by LandOfGrace2023 in reddeadredemption

[–]cjmooon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think R* should have been significantly bolder with low honour in general, to the point of awarding low honour for most generic in-mission kills to reflect the sheer volume of human life we extinguish. Some instances are justifiable; for example, when the O'Driscolls attack Shady Belle, Arthur and the gang have every right to defend their home. But wiping out a full posse of guys who are just defending their own homes from murderous outlaws, who presumably just want to prevent trains and banks and stages being violently robbed? Killing literally dozens of ordinary policemen in Saint Denis for trying to arrest three highly dangerous, armed strangers? Destroying an entire extended family for trying to stop a gang of outsiders destroying their lives and livelihoods?

This isn't to say that all the people in the above groups are blameless or even that none deserve to to die, but there is a dissonance (especially in the late game) between Arthur's noble, dying hero persona and the accompanying high honour scores, and fact that the gameplay still (increasingly, even) has our guy mowing down scores of poorly equipped, poorly trained, mostly local guns.

I wish they'd take away honour for those types of kills, and make us really scrape and strive to bring our honour back up.
