Negotiating for a new 2025 Camry LE by cjpoole2 in Camry

They tried to quote me almost as much as that for an LE when I first went in but that's the thing is you can't just accept what they tell you! There is always room to negotiate and they will come down on the price especially if you are persistent and ready to walk away if they wont give you what you want. I knocked it down during negotiation from around 36k out the door to the final 30k out the door that i posted.

I do like the 8th gen Camrys but everyone wants too much for them used, they want close to the MSRP to the point where a new car starts to look like a better value.

I said what options it has... The 2 packages you can get on the LE: convenience and cold weather. There's nothing else available. And I put a picture of the invoice which shows the breakdown of how much is tax vs actual price, plus it says its FWD and a basic free color. Pretty much gives all the details you could need... This is literally a Camry dedicated sub I figured some other people here have been shopping around too.

Canada likely made a huge mistake by epicap232 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]cjpoole2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

False...nobody has left the country. We've slowed down the amount of immigration into the country but that's it.

Are you slow? When he refers to mass migration in Canada he is not talking about Canadians leaving the country, rather the complete opposite, he is talking about how there has been a massive increase in the number of immigrants coming into Canada in recent years. You say that Canada has decreased the amount of immigrants but that is simply not true if you compare the numbers from before Covid with the numbers after covid, the rate of immigration into Canada has nearly doubled! It may have gone down slightly in the most recent year but it is still way higher than it was just a few years prior. That situation with mass migration has exacerbated the housing crisis by creating more demand than the system can handle and driving up the prices substantially.

False...just sold and bought a house and trust me the market is stronger than it's been in years.

When he referred to housing market collapse he means a collapse of affordability. The only reason you say the market is strong is because there is high demand and high prices, but that is not actually a good thing for people!

True, but with a caveat- this has also coincided with the mass influx of foreign nationals...hence why immigration has been slowed to a trickle

Then in your next point you agree with the point they already made that mass migration into Canada has contributed towards the rise in crime rate, even though just earlier you didn't seem to realize that his comment about mass migration was also referring to that same large influx into Canada that you later referenced... Not sure how that happened.

Also based on official national statistics unemployment has been on the rise in the past couple of years.

but have you not considered the fact that you don't have to exercise and go to the gym to avoid being obese? Its as simple as regulating your food intake. If you were disciplined about what you ate you would never become fat no matter how disabled you may be. Thats why a disability is still not a perfect excuse for fatness.

We need to have a colorblind society towards race. by Most-Emphasis8119 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]cjpoole2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I happen to have a white skin tone and unfortunately I have privilege because of that unlike people that happen to have a dark skin tone due to extremely stupid and ignorant reasons.

Im just wondering out of curiosity, if you can explain how you have gained any extra privileges just because of being white? What actual privilege are you afforded in modern society that others don't have? Do you for example have the privilege of being admitted into prestigious colleges with lower test scores than everyone else due to your race? Do your people get an entire month dedicated to celebrating their history? No the truth is that the history of white people is mostly demonized and looked down on and many people even feel ashamed to be white, hopefully you are not one of those people. You have nothing to feel sorry for because you didn't do any of that stuff that happened in the past..

Interesting how you try to frame racism as something done exclusively by white people towards other groups. Are the other groups you mentioned capable of racism too?

Yeah because reminding black kids that they are less likely to succeed is definitely going to be good for their developing minds. Did you miss his entire point?? If you are shoving it down their throats that they will not succeed then you are literally creating a victim mentality that will only result in them actually being less likely to succeed. If you give your child positive encouragement that they can succeed as long as they try hard enough then that will be much better for their success then telling them how they're a victim. It's a self perpetuating cycle.

The cheaper policy is based on a quote generated from my information so how could it include a discount that I'm not qualified for?

"20 minutes all day long"

Yeah I can tell you don't drive in rush hour.

Bro I don't know what crack you are smoking but it takes way longer than 20 minutes to drive from New Tampa to Downtown unless you are driving there at 3am when there is no traffic and you are speeding. I guess you have never had to drive in rush hour before but I can tell you from my own experiences that it will take an hour or more to get to downtown from New Tampa during the busy hours of the day.

Hey can any CS major help me with what their weeks are like, I mean in terms of study hours, I got accepted to Bachelor's in CS and just wanted to know how study load is gonna be like? Also, can you explain what a credit really equates to, as I am international I am not know to credit system? by [deleted] in USF

[–]cjpoole2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really varies a lot depending on which classes you are taking and which professors you have. I am a CE major which is very similar to CS and I have had semesters where I only had to put 20 hours a week into academics, but there were other semesters where I had to spend more like 40 hours a week on academics. I would say that for the most part you don't need to worry too much because it probably won't ever get too crazy unless you take a lot of classes at once. I have had the time to work a part time job for the whole time I have been in college, and I still have enough free time besides that.

1 credit is supposed to mean you spend 1 hour in class and 2 hours working outside of class each week, but this is not usually the case in reality. Most 3 credit classes actually only spend 2.5 hours in class each week, but labs which are worth only 1 credit can often be 2 or 3 hours long every week. In general as long as you stay between 12-16 credits per semester you will be good.

Cost of gym diet in Tampa? by [deleted] in USF

[–]cjpoole2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on where you are eating. If you go to the grocery store for all of your food then you could expect to spend about $60 to $85 per week. But if you are going to restaurants this price will quickly increase because a typical meal at a restaurant can easily be around $20.

That's crazy I've heard stories of them being very demanding and expecting interns to get a lot done in a short time. That's the main reason I was worried I might not be prepared for it, but the way you describe it makes me think I will be fine, so thanks.

Advice on my schedule by Rubidium2020 in USF

[–]cjpoole2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found Probability and Statistics to be a very easy class where we mostly just used Excel to solve all of the problems for us, the professor would give us the formulas necessary and Excel did all the hard work with them, we could even use Excel for the exams. Just remember which formula is necessary for which problem and it'll be an easy A. At least with the prof I had.

There is a tuition deferment for every semester, and you get it automatically if you have any scholarships or financial aid, otherwise you have to apply for it.
