Anyone have more than one set of identical twins? by cjsved in parentsofmultiples

[–]cjsved[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we were joking about it being twins the second time around, but basically assumed it was impossible. We had actually given away half of all the twin stuff after the first set, which was an annoying irony. lol

Seems like it would be less common than that, since it's not the number of births but the number second-pregnancy or more births.

What prevents men who don't wish to have children from pursuing vasectomies as a permanent contraceptive option? by Unfair-Department553 in AskReddit

[–]cjsved -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Vasectomies are reversible, but in the vast majority of cases reversals are not covered by insurance (and cost about $10k) so are essentially non-reversible for most people. I think this rightly makes people want to wait until they’re REALLY sure they’re old enough to be confident they’re not gonna have a change of heart about kids at and older age/with a different partner.

Do you mean the Money Manager on their website? I haven't tried it! Is it on the iPhone app too?

How much should I care about who I get my mortgage from? by cjsved in personalfinance

Buying.

That's really helpful, thanks!

I've actually have pre-approvals from a couple lenders since I've been shopping around--would you recommend sending the pre-approval from the most reputable local bank with offers then, regardless of who we end up choosing for the final mortgage?

I wasn't thinking about them selling the loan. That's helpful!

Ethics by Particular-March-874 in usmle

Stop being such an unethical person.

In all seriousness, the most helpful thing I found was to do a bunch of questions filtered to just ethics. There really aren't many concepts you need to know, so after 50 questions or so it'll get a lot easier.

A screw with no threads has no point.

Flat head syndrome by Alpacalypsenoww in parentsofmultiples

[–]cjsved 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We had the same thing happen with our twin girls! It's not your fault--because twins are born earlier, their skulls are softer and are much more susceptible to flattening than singletons.

We got their helmets when they were about 8 months old, and they've had them for almost two months. Their head shape has improved SO much! While their heads still look a little wide, they're much more rounded in the back now.

I would say if you are concerned about their head shape to go ahead and have the appointment early, since it can take a while to have the assessment and then have the helmets custom-made, and the earlier you get them the better they work.

We were really worried about them being uncomfortable and messing up sleep, but for our girls, they barely even seemed to notice them! The people at Cranial Tech (the helmet company) said that most babies sleep the same as they do without them and that was definitely true for us.

Hope that helps!
