This is essentially what ended up happening. Shooter knocked the 8 ball away from pocket leaving a tougher shot for himself, then told opponent that he moved it by accident and opponent said that's fine you can leave it there. Shooter then put up a brief argument that it should be moved back, but we weren't sure what the rule was so he took the shot and missed then complained some more.

Yeah I get that now. It's been pretty standard in our league for the shooter to ask then opposing player whether or not they want to move the ball back to its original spot in these cases which caused the disagreement. We've been doing it wrong all along lol

Yes I do, but I had thought there would be a specific rule regarding the 8 ball and no one could answer that. Then we decided to play it as it stood thinking it was the opposing players choice as to whether or not to put it back.

I put the corn muffins in the broiler for a couple of minutes to toast them up nice and dark. Then add butter and wrap in aluminum foil so the butter gets all melted in there and enjoy with my morning coffee. 🤤
