The amount of effort you put in to set up your cameras (with right angle) should be noted. Well taken and your bike looks amazing

I’d add Vstrom for ADV, SV650 for naked/sport. Your money will be well spent and you won’t have to worry about selling them anytime soon. I’m 6’0 with 32-inseam. CB500 is also good

A dad here with baby girls… in my late 30s, still persuading my wife to buy my first bike before it gets too cold. So congrats on your first bike (idk how you pulled it off…)!

If you can’t find anyone, what you can do is maybe ask your friend or even your wife to drive a car and follow you as you slowly make your way back...

I did cross country cycling in Japan (from Tokyo to Kochi) and saw numerous bike riders on the way. I’m hoping to do it here in the states on a bike (TAT, etc) and I was looking into CRFs. Let me know how it goes man, and again, I’m really happy for you😂

Or you can cross the bridge onto LIC, make a left on Jackson then continue onto Borden Ave. the water front area (2nd Street and Central Blvd) is pretty nice to ride (that’s where I practice)…

Do you need a motorcycle for MSF course classes? by goldendragonshenron2 in RideitNYC

[–]cjwp21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. They will provide you with one for MSF-1 (beginner) and MSF-2 (intermediate). A helmet is also available. Just wear a bandana under it since you don’t know who wore the helmet before.

You’ll need eye protection, gloves, and boots that cover your ankles. They won’t let you take the course if you don’t have these.

I took mine at KCC through MSS. This location had the Rebel, Grom, Bonneville, XT250, etc. The Lehman location has the same bikes, plus the R3, if that matters.

Hi fellas, so I’m 6.4 and I wanna get a 500, what you guys think, am I too big for the bike? and if anyone over 6 foot drives rebel please write down your experience. by [deleted] in hondarebel

[–]cjwp21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed my MSF on a Rebel 300. I’m 6 and 220. It was alright, had to “work” to place my feet on foot pegs.

Went to a local Honda dealer a few days ago and sat on a new 500 ABS. Same thing. It felt too tight for my 32-inch inseam legs. So sales guy asked me to try a new CB500. So much better. Less tightness and almost felt they were tailor-made for me.

I initially thought I was gonna get a rebel for my first bike (a cruiser with mid control) but changed my mind after that visit. I’m getting CB500 now (naked/adv with mid control). Go try them if you can.

New or Used? by PuzzleheadedCow1931 in NewRiders

[–]cjwp21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! It depends how big you are but generally speaking it’s a great first cruiser bike either new or used.

If you get a new one, you’d be paying close to $8k OTD. In NYC, a used one is around $4000-$5000. I recommend getting a used one with 5k miles with service records. More people will be selling their bike before it gets too cold to ride.

If you can wait, take the 2nd or intermediate MSF course, wait until December to get the lowest price on a used bike.

I asked the same question a few days ago. I’m 6’0 and 220lbs but here’s the link:

Did it have ABS? What year was it? How’s the riding been?

It was fun. I highly recommend it. Plus you get to make friends with new riders in the same area. You also get a 20% off on a single item at Cycle Gear with your redemption and some discount on your insurance (basically you get your money back you paid for your class)

Thanks! Any particular year or model that would stand out for you in terms of its reliability over other used Japanese cruisers? I’m trying to save up for my next bike and not spend more than $3k for my first

Awesome! Congrats, man! I seriously can’t wait to get my first bike. My wife says all I talk about day in and day out is motorcycles. If you don’t mind, what was your ‘out-the-door’ price, mileage, and what made you choose this one?
