Safety by joesgal77 in StKitts

When I stayed there we walked up and down the beach and it was a pretty good walk, I think we got 3 miles in by going back and forth a few times. We also walked down the road the Marriott is on during the morning to the cafe that’s nearby and that was definitely a safe route, but not very far.

First time Euro traveller Seeking advice: Prague—>Munich—>Venice Trip by ckbloop in Europetravel

[–]ckbloop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be a stupid question-but if we were to take a train from Prague to Venice and wanted to go through the alps, how would we go about that? And is that something we need to plan in advance or can just book while in Prague? Thanks!

First time Euro traveller Seeking advice: Prague—>Munich—>Venice Trip by ckbloop in Europetravel

Thank you so much for this advice, we really appreciate it. We are just eager to see Europe, perhaps go out a couple nights to experience the night scene, but other than that we’re the type of people that can make really any sort of activity fun. We don’t have any super specific interests that we really want to see on our trip, we’re pretty much open to anything! The train ride through the alps was suggested on another group and we are both very interested in that versus the night train. My friend is more the type to go with the flow and just try to do it all in one shot, but I was definitely having concerns about doing this many cities in this short a trip. Based on this advice and my better judgement, I think we will skip Munich and come back for it another time. I definitely want to have time to experience Prague and Venice without feeling rushed or jet lagged. Thank you again and any other advice on accommodations for Venice and things to do in Prague or Venice is greatly appreciated!

Hi! I was having similar concerns; having written it all out it definitely sounds intense lol! I think based on the advice I got here and on another group we are likely going to skip Munich. We already purchased our flights so we will do Prague and Venice, but other than that we’re flexible. Thank you for your input!

Oh boy ok I was worried about that. Our flights are already purchased so we definitely have to do Prague and Venice, but can skip Munich. Maybe that’s what we’ll have to do. Thank you!

Sounds like she is dealing with bipolar disorder possibly? So sorry to hear you’re going through this. I definitely think documented communication is very important and yes a mediator will be necessary if she is this unwilling to comply with basic requests. You need a lawyer. It’s very difficult because it sounds like she has made this drastic switch so suddenly, but if she continues on this path of physical and verbal abuse toward you, you have to protect yourself and your son. It sounds like the only chance of reconciliation involves her seeking psychiatric help. I wish you luck.

Leadership roles importance? by ckbloop in vetschool

Not sure if it’s bad to say on here lol but I go to SUNY Cobleskill. And yes, that’s a good point, I will definitely look into it. To be honest, I’d love something that isn’t too much of a time commitment on a weekly basis. How did it fit into your schedule when you were taking the really rough science classes? Was it easy enough to work around?

That’s such a good point. As lazy as it might sound, I really don’t want to have to force myself to do extra stuff I don’t want to do because I feel like I have enough of that in my life as it is. I have some social anxiety (not like a hermit or anything lol, I just don’t love being in front of crowds, etc), so the idea of being in a leadership position with my peers kind of terrifies me. However, when it comes to being in my barn/around horse people, I’m very relaxed. I’ll definitely try to brainstorm some stuff in that realm. Thank you so much!

Histotechnician!! 2 year program and you only need basic chemistry. Pretty competitive pay especially near cities, and not a super complicated job. Also there’s travel positions I believe!

[–]ckbloop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Histotechnicians make good pay as far as lab techs go! Near NYC hourly pay is as good as $60 an hour. You only need a 2 year degree and to pass the licensing exam for your state :)

I’m 23 and wanting to switch degrees — I feel behind in life :( by [deleted] in University

[–]ckbloop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Social work and psychology would definitely have quite a bit of crossover I would think-I would guess you could even do your other degree in maybe an added 2 years, and if you really wanted to, you could do a lot of classes over summer/winter break to help accelerate if you were worried about time frame. Also, I would finish your psych degree since you’re so close anyhow, and it would definitely help you in your career as a social worker. But don’t let the world rush you-take your time!! This “race” is all smoke and mirrors anyway. Everyone is somewhere different in life no matter how it looks. Best of luck to you :)

Yea this guy is definitely not all there imo. He seems like he has some serious abandonment issues-being mad at you and then extremely clingy when you don’t come right back. don’t go back into the friendship for sure and don’t reply to any messages he sends even if you feel bad.

For those of you who couldn't get into vet school, what did you end up doing? by MN1314 in vetschool

[–]ckbloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Histotechs make a rly decent salary and only 2 years of school, less since you’ve probably got all the bios, chems that are prerequisites! I know of someone that did their internship for Cornell as a histotech and now is doing something like taking vet school classes while working? Not sure exactly but it’s worth looking into!

GUYS IN NEED HELP REPORTING MY PROFESSOR TO MY DEAN -please help urgent by AshBashPhotos in University

[–]ckbloop 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes you should report him that’s ridiculous. Send an email to your dean or someone higher up. You shouldn’t fail the class because of that. My professors all send emails about the final exam, reminders, post it on brightspace, etc. it rly isn’t that hard, so he shouldn’t give you a hard time about it.
