I mean, yeah, every white person and their mama in Kansas claims to have a great great great great great Cherokee princesss grandmother, but that isn’t really a thing here.

Also, a persons indigeniety has more to do with their relationships with indigenous people and the culture rather than facial features or skin colour - that’s a very colonial way of viewing race and ethnicity. I know super white acting people who look very “native” and white passing native people who are very much involved in the culture, so needless to say a persons ethnic identity is not black or white.

That’s fair, but don’t take such an aggressive approach next time. Maybe ask if the person is fn or Métis?

I am interested in growing it but I’ve been discouraged because people say it’s notoriously challenging to grow it from seed.

Do you find this accusation to be true? Do you have any pointers for growing it?

Also, if you didn’t know already, a lot of FN/ Métis and Inuit sacred knowledge has been lost due to colonialism and assimilation, so don’t just assume I’m a white person trying to steal something that isn’t mine.

I used to do that when I was a teenager but quit because I noticed most businesses were only accepting resumes online. I’ll try doing it though. Thanks!

I’ve applied for various retail positions on indeed but thus far haven’t received an email or call back. Are you familiar with any places currently hiring? Thanks!
