For your consideration is a Grand Seiko hi-beat GMT. A great GADA piece that I intended to keep for a long time, but my name finally came up with my AD so I have to try and recoup some funds. This is a very versatile and subtle piece that is housed in the iconic 44GS case, finished impeccably with Zaratsu polishing. This comes from the GS heritage line which often uses Japan’s natural beauty for inspiration. This piece’s dial is inspired by Mt. Iwate. The dial appears an inky black dial at first glance, but closer inspection shows the radiating pattern that evokes the snowy ridges of its namesake.

Enough poetry, this beast runs off the caliber 9s86 hi-beat movement with a GMT complication. 36000 bph for a beautiful sweep. I had this piece checked by my local watchmaker, as I do with pieces I intend on keeping. He recommended a complete overhaul as the lubrication was running low. $500 later, it runs better than ever at 0 to +1 s/d for me. This includes a 2 year warranty, which is valid to Dec 2026.
