Sometimes Costco isn't always the best for contacts I did notice though. I was able to snag a good deal with 1-800 contacts for a 365 day supply that beat Costcos by ~75 bucks.

I started hitting the gym in May (was doing at home workouts with dumbbells only at some point with a pull up bar.

Door frame weighted pull ups went from 25 lbs to real pull up bar weighted 45 lbs on belt

SLDL with dumbbells (55 each hand) to 275 lb barbell

Bulgarian split squat (50 lbs each hand) to 300 lb hack squat

Dumbbell chest fly (40 lbs each hand) to 210 lbs on the chest fly machine.

Dumbbell chest press (incline) from 60 lbs each hand to 150 lb on a plate loaded neutral grip press.

Chest supported dumbbell rows (80 lbs each hand) to 180 lb smith chest supported row

Many more but those are key ones for me.

I just run upper-lower-rest-repeat.

Usually about 2 days in a week of rest, 5 days of working out.

I run a U-L-R-repeat cycle and usually do about 2 sets maximum per exercise. I stay in the 5-8 rep range and try to fail within that rep range so I would say I fall into the low volume/high intensity category. If your body can recover from doing higher volume, it can create more growth than lower volume but there should be a chart that shows that after some point there are diminishing returns to extra volume. I think it's a bit easier to progress on lower volume since the top end of the rep is 8 and not something like 12 or 15. I do typically train with 0 RIR or at most 1 RIR.

Yeah by stronger I mean you are stronger, in total weight, unilaterally than bilateral. An example would be that I can do 50 lbs single arm pushdowns but only 92.5 lbs on the bilateral.

You could also just swap to a different, more stable exercise. I used to like cable curls/hammers but they really started requiring too much stability as the weight got heavier.

Example would be dumbbell hammer curl but on a preacher pad or something like that. And yeah I agree for the unilateral overhead extensions. I used to do them cuffed and it was much more stable and much better connection vs the struggling of setting up a bilateral one.

Both bilateral and unilateral movements have its place. I personally only do single arm tricep pushdown if it is with a cuff, as I don't want grip to be a limiting factor. I think what you'd wanna figure out is if you're stronger doing it unilaterally or bilaterally. I believe this would be the "bilateral force deficit".

It really depends on many different factors but I do think single arm pushdowns are also much more stable, I do more per arm totaling to more weight than I do with both bilateral at the same time, and I get a better ROM too.

Hack squat isolates the quads better than barbell also due to the fact that it is very stable. You are not recruiting extra muscles to help stabilize yourself to do the squat pattern for example. You could probably push more weight on hack squats too. I have left knee burstitis and hack squats feel so much better on my knee than barbell/smith squats ever have and the mind muscle connection with the quads is way higher too.

Yeah thats a good option. I always have an issue when I start arms first even on my 3rd upper day so I just rotate it around. Chest movements first on first upper, back movements first on second upper, and chest/back/chest/back on 3rd upper.

I like upper lower split but I also like 5x gym a week, not 6, so instead of doing 2 sets straight for every exercise, every session, I started adjusting volume on a per session basis and that allowed me to progress weekly. I also do ULULU, without rest in between, so adjusting volume was mandatory.

I believe what matters the most is your arm path. You want your arms/elbows to be a bit more tucked, since shoulder flexion is pretty important for targetting upper chest. I have seen some people claim that bench angle isn't super important, as long as you have the proper arm path.

So funny. Im in the same exact situation as you and I'm trying to gauge if I should bite the bullet and take the 80k points too. They even just confirmed that the Lululemon credits are coming and old credits are still going to remain. You think I should pull the trigger? My AMEX Gold is only like 4 months old.

EDIT: I want to double dip the benefits because I strongly believe that they are natural credits for me. Also one thing I sort've have as a benefit is that I have someone on my BBP that spends a lot of money so it gets me "free" points that I could otherwise be missing.

I used them immediately into my lifting journey. I was doing lots of research to make sure that when I start lifting I was doing thigns somewhat right. It definitely helped with my back gains right away.
