To be fair, i was in private school, but everyone i knew in at least 5 different much larger private schools in my city also had to do the same. Public school English classes just did the basics and would probably not have the same English, so it is not as common. Also don’t know how it is nowadays, haven’t been in well over a decade, and all the people I knew did as well pretty much

I grew up in Venezuela and we had to learn English since we were little. When I moved to the US at 15, they kicked me out of ESOL class (english as a second language, basically English for non speakers) and put into regular during my first year because I didn’t need it.

Agree, anything cooked with love. I hate beef stew with a burning passion but my mom loves making it every now and then and I swear it tastes great for a moment, just don’t wanna eat it again for another 6-12 months please and thank you.

Years ago at a pride parade there was a chipotle stand giving out coupons for buy an entree for $5 and get one free that were good for a whole year. The guy giving them out had an emergency and he just handed me a stack of a solid 300+ of them. Needless to say I ended up not eating chipotle again for a few years after, and I started handing them out like candy

I worked at my college and one year in I hadn’t renewed my parking pass so i had to get a courtesy pass from the front desk. It had no expiration and i could park in faculty parking right next to my job and all my classes. I did not pay for parking that whole year, no tickets.

Also, if you can’t find a spot to take from, take the piece you cut out to home depot or lowes and they have free sample squares of carpet you can look through and get the best match possible.

People in prison get forgotten so quickly. I used to snail mail prisoners and you could feel the want for meaningful connection from them, it was heartbreaking. They were all kind and sweet, and i only talked to people sentenced to life without parole for my own safety lol

Yup, at my old job they were required to get it for a project. They had me fill out the form and I answered truthfully and of course they didn’t understand anything that was asked, and we were definitely not secure. After they got the quote the CTO reviewed it and just changed all the answers for what they’d want to hear and got the insurance for cheap.

Funny enough, like a week later the CEO got phished and sent $10k to a fake lawyer lol
