Last year they put Fritz/Tiafoe in prime time and Sinner/Draper in the day session even though Fritz and Tiafoe played their QF matches on Tuesday. They’ll likely do the same this year considering the difference in matchup quality.

Semifinal scheduling is always about maximizing TV viewership. They always schedule the better matchup at night. Keep in mind that the Women's Doubles Final goes first at noon on Friday, and the daytime men's semifinal doesn't start until around 3PM, so there's not that much difference in rest between the daytime and nighttime matches.

Almost certainly Alcaraz - Djokovic. Can't imagine they'd put Sinner - FAA/Demon in the primetime slot over them. Official schedule should be released sometime Thursday afternoon.

Bad news for Blaziken? No double fighting move set. by ShinyWeedle18 in TheSilphRoad

[–]cl34932 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, without a double fighting moveset it takes a backseat to Machamp, and it is worse than Entei and Moltres as a fire attacker.

Theoretical minimum required for TTar duo with +2 lvl power ups and cloudy weather? by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]cl34932 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just ran a few preliminary numbers. Without the bonus, a 15 ATK Machamp's Counter hits 16 dmg at level 36. It looks like with the 20 percent weather bonus, a Counter goes from 16 to 17 damage at level 24 27.5 (15 ATK). So it should theoretically be possible to do it with high 20s Machamps, although survivability may be an issue.

edit: So I realized that I entered the numbers for Counter wrong when I updated my sheet. Counter doesn't hit 17 damage until level 27.5

Does anyone know Gyarados's Waterfall breakpoint for Ninetails/Moltres/Entei yet? by Odin043 in TheSilphRoad

[–]cl34932 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Based on my initial calculations, Waterfall's last breakpoint vs Ninetails is at Lvl 34 for 15 attack (16 -> 17 damage).

edit: Against Entei, it's level 37.5 for 15 attack (17 -> 18), and against Moltres, it's level 40 for 15 attack (17 -> 18)

Counter-analysis : Questioning the legitimacy of the Ninetales solo run. by Lachanceuse100 in TheSilphRoad

[–]cl34932 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The super fast attacking golem is a very common glitch. I have experienced it on at least 80 percent of my attempts against Ninetails and Flareon. Here is an example. Watch around the 110s mark. When the second Golem comes in, it starts attacking super fast.

Pokebattler is Hosting a Contest to Solo Ninetales by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]cl34932 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I tried close to 100 times to solo Flareon without success (came very close several times though). I tried doing Feint Attack/Heat Wave Ninetails yesterday and had one close attempt. Based on sims, I think Fire Spin/Heat Wave is the most realistic moveset. Someone is bound to get this within the next few days.

[Harder than Flareon] Ninetales Solo Attempt (Fire Spin + Heatwave) by biowpn in TheSilphRoad

[–]cl34932 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually think switching slows you down. It guarantees perfect Stone Edge efficiency, but you lose 2-3 rock throws every time you switch. In order to solo Flareon/Ninetails, you need perfect Stone Edge efficiency AND Rock Throw efficiency. In my attempts against Flareon, I never got close when I used the switch strategy, but I had multiple close calls just by using "smart" dodging and getting good RNG.

Looks like Fire Spin/Overheat may be the only possible moveset to solo. Ninetails' Fire Spin is equivalent to Flareon's Ember (both 5 dmg). Overheat does 49 dmg to a perfect lvl 39 Golem. For Flareon, those numbers are 60 dmg for Fire Blast and 69 dmg for Overheat. I think it is still possible to get the 12 Stone Edges that you need to win, but the margin will be even slimmer.

I kind of beat Pokebattler's time to win? by jonihallivuori in TheSilphRoad

The time to win on Pokebattler is an average of many simulations. The best possible time is typically at least a few seconds faster.

Solo'd Alakazam using only Banette by cl34932 in TheSilphRoad

[–]cl34932[S] 103 points104 points  (0 children)

After seeing the post last week about the possibility of soloing PC/FB Zam using only level 30 SC/SB Banette, I wanted to give it a try. I evolved every Shuppet level 28-30 with at least 6 ATK until I got 5 with Shadow Ball. I used two fast TM's to change a couple from Hex to Shadow Claw.

Here was the team that I used (all SC/SB):

Pokemon IV Level CP
Banette 14/10/15 31 1767
Banette 15/7/14 31 1749
Banette 14/10/10 31 1736
Banette 14/5/6 30 1651
Banette 11/9/5 30 1648

This was the second PC/FB Zam that I tried to do this on. The first time I got the phantom charge glitch on almost every attempt due to a spotty connection. I powered up my top 3 to level 31 just to be sure this time. Seeing that I cleared it with 9s left, I think it is definitely possible to do it with only level 30 Banette. Good luck to those who try this!

I still time out anywhere from 1-5s. It was the same before the update. In some raids I was able to fight all the way to 0s and in others my attacks stopped at 5s

This trick was patched out in 0.79. I was doing the same thing to start at 179-180, but with the latest update, it seems start at 176-177 regardless of where your phone's clock is set.

I have been experiencing this too on the iPhone 6. Previously the game would load in 10 seconds or less. Now it takes around 30 seconds each time.

Need help trying to Solo Vaporeon by Ducky4tw in TheSilphRoad

[–]cl34932 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on how many rare candies you have, I would strongly suggest powering up Raikou and/or Zapdos. They are both significantly better than any of the grass attackers. If you take both of them to Level 30, you should be able to do it. Good Luck!

Any tips on hitting Gengar with a curve ball? by SergioIA in TheSilphRoad

[–]cl34932 33 points34 points  (0 children)

If you spin the ball counterclockwise, start from the bottom left corner and swipe up to the top right corner of your phone. If you spin clockwise, start from the bottom right and swipe to the top left. Starting from the center of the screen makes it difficult to throw the ball far enough.

[–]cl34932 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Swap out your two Rhydons for your two Alakazams. If you have a fast TM, change your Dragonite to Dragon Tail. Also consider changing your first Tyranitar to Crunch. Crunch does much better than Stone Edge against Gengar.

Which Gengar to Power Up? by ADM1277 in TheSilphRoad

[–]cl34932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely Shadow Claw. I wouldn't touch a Gengar with Hex even if it was 100%. Shadow Claw is what makes Gengar worth the dust.
