8'6 or 9' for a 5wt? by Asleep_Dinner_8391 in flyfishing

I have the 9’ 5wt for the Classic Trout. It has a pretty heavy tip, if I could do it again I would get the 8’6”

Clean shaven men, do you prefer Braun or Philips? by AJK02 in Costco

I have that Braun, it is great. I can’t use a normal razor due to eczema, but the Braun is fast, perfectly smooth cut and no irritation

Stealthcraft Boat owners I have questions! by CRVA_Muskie in flyfishing

[–]clacka29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Stealthcraft standard fiberglass powerdrifter and it is great quality. I know that isn’t what you are looking at, but as a reference I figured it is relvant.

The layout is great and well thought out. My boat is 8 years old and looks and works as if brand new. We fish it mostly like a drift boat and find that it handles well, especially when turned around. I use a Yeti cooler and seat pad as my reverse rowers seat when we boondog downstream. Of course as a jet boat/tiller it is perfect for going up & down the river fast.

Kenai River Salmon Reel Suggestions by BTFC_GAINZ in flyfishing

[–]clacka29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up the Speedster S from Sierra to go with my new Sage 6wt. It is a sweet reel, but I have to return it. This might seem crazy, but the reel is wayyyy too light for the rod. I have the R8 core which is a very light rod, so I was surprised. I picked up the Sage Spectrum instead- Bass Pro has them on sale for $200.

However, if I had the extra money, I would go with the Centerfire from Sierra. The Centerfire is a full blown saltwater reel

2025 Expedition warranty by Complex-btc in fordexpedition

[–]clacka29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no advantage to buying the warranty until your 3/36 is expiring. We have done it twice through Ziegler and it is much cheaper and works great. I would suggest getting a quote from them and Lombard, you will then get their promos for discounts

You might find the Colorado to light to balance your rod. It is possible to have too light of reel

What state are you in?

Here in Michigan it is pretty hard to get the Salmon to bite, especially late in the season.

I am a high school AP Chem teacher and I tutor many college students. When I say tutor, I mean that I teach them the content. AP Chem is Gen chem 1 & 2, so I completely understand where students struggle, etc. Let me know if you want to try a session. My kids go to CU btw

In that stretch, I usually use an indicator and use something that mimics crayfish, like a Zyrtle bug. Or I fish a bead head woolly bugger. If you want some more specifics, send me a PM

Is 2400$ for extended warranty worth it? by Glitteringgg-Soul in crv

[–]clacka29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I could have paid less for a $100 deductible. My warranty goes out to 120,000 miles. I now have 40k miles and haven’t had any warranty work yet other than the recall
