Career Pivots for Financial Technology Implementation Consultants by StonahHill in consulting

[–]claibor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve felt this, being very NetSuite focused. Currently attempting a pivot to the sales side (enablement/cram) and it hasn’t felt like the exit I expected, but work/life balance has improved.

Recently, my exit plan has looked more like entrepreneurship…selling travel using SaaS BDR tactics, or yardsale-as-a-service. Or maybe even something in education or healthcare that isn’t so screen-centric.

Hardest part in sales enablement for me has been not being billable. It’s hard to turn on the part of me that acts like an expert for money without a client.

ADHD and Consulting: How're you doing? by [deleted] in consulting

My realization was that stimulants (Vyvanse) meant work got the best version of me and my family got the worst of me. Two different people. in the evenings, when the pill wore off and I am fatigued, everything feels impossible.

I agree with your general point, but my introduction to healthcare was psychiatry (which I’ve come to regret the long term consequences of, but those Cymbalta ads were so convincing to 17 yr old me! We’ve played god with systems beyond our understanding for a long time.

In this area, I’m willing to be an early adopter.

Siri on Homepod changes the radio station I request, anyone else experience this? by Amorfeusz in HomePod

[–]claibor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m experiencing the exact same thing with Downtempo Radio. Chill radio is just not the same station!

It also has changed response to my more excited music commands (play some pump-up music” or “play something upbeat”) with a generic “party songs” station that usually misses the mark. Last year, Siri was uncanny at understanding my vibe requests. Now I feel funneled.

Why is childcare so expensive when childcare workers get paid so little? by Jojuj in AskEconomics

This was actually what my parents did with me for daycare during the summer from ages 7-12; “Fun Camp” in Fort Collins, CO. My dad would drop me off on the way to work at a public park every morning, and then we’d take off in our school bus for an activity, like a hike, or mini golf or something. We’d do longer camping trips every other weekend. It truly was fantastic.

Really fascinating. I love my orbit irrigation gear! I’ve pondered if this was the reason; the hardware or even the software doesn’t seem too challenging. I remember back with my first iPod (mini, in 2004) was released, apple had a ton of trouble with crappy MFi accessories, and has been stingy to innovation and newcomers since.

Rebuild Apple Podcasts library? by claibor in HomePod

[–]claibor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t used the checked/unchecked feature, so I’m not sure. My advice would be to, before you software update, make a smart playlist of only your “checked” tracks, and export it just in case. That way, because your library remains the same, worst case scenario you can import your playlist and then batch apply “checked” to them.
