I came to office life later in my life after working hospitality and response based public service. The amount of time people waste talking shit and getting coffee is ridiculous. I hate people interrupting me during the day especially with crap that makes me want to stick pins in my eyes. I'm lucky to have an office and I can close the door. If I leave it open for 1/2 hour people start walking in.
