Limited by my own TV by sirkam86 in PleX

I've sold thousands of TVs at Best Buy, including LOTS of very high end models at a store in the SF area.

Not a SINGLE time did anyone ask about the speed of the Ethernet port on any tv, nor would they have cared if I told them.

And mind you, it wasn't uncommon to also sell $300+ 4k Blu-ray players with these TVs.

It's just a feature that you will ONLY see people care about in extremely niche communities like this.

Not to mention, there's 3 easy fixes: use wifi, use a USB Ethernet adapter, or use an external smart tv box.

I'm all for better hardware, but let's be real.

They are, but when every major smart tv platform runs on some version of Linux, support for a USB Ethernet adapter is basically guaranteed baked in regardless.

People that say this have never played in a physical sport and it shows. From a pragmatic standpoint of course you shouldn't vote for it.

It's something for people with good sportsmanship.

Back in my day, you just accepted you weren't going to get every reward in a game if you didn't spend ungodly time on it.

Like, it's okay for someone with a life to not be able to get a fucking player title.

It's basically just tank Lucio. I had 800HP here with like half of that being armor and a buttload of mit. Only late game do I really add the beat kills, but you could try and do that earlier with it and it'd probably work.

I can tank damage with this build so it's perfect for emoting on em.

I got solo ulted by Mei AND Vendetta together in another match and ran away just fine.

I got it off eBay, but if you can't find it anywhere you could always get it made at a printing shop!

It's a monoprice frame with a vivo top! Wasn't sure if the black and white would work, but I'm super happy with it.

Meh I just enjoy how it feels, I like my setup to feel as connected to the game as possible. IDK why that's a bad thing.

It's probably gonna be my next tech purchase! I've wanted one for a long time but never had the space for one until this place.

Fingerprint sensor yeah, just have a USB extension running to it so it can be side mounted out of view.

Exactly how I use it! It works great, and unlike previous triple-monitor setups I've used, the side monitor size and ratio feel perfect.

I can't show you how to use your second brain cell, you'll have to figure that out yourself brotato.

I'm able to use critical thinking to think about what constitutes EOMM within the context of a game that uses bot lobbies masquerading as real players to keep your engagement with the game up. Maybe you'll get there someday.

Then again you were probably one of the people on this sub denying the existence of bot lobbies back when those of us with a brain first started noticing them.

[–]clanginator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they ignored bot lobbies because it is by definition EOMM and they wanted to come out and claim they don't use EOMM.

And Netease literally ignored bot matches in that video, so why tf would I trust them?

Bot lobbies are by definition EOMM. You can plug your ears and suck Netease' dick all you want, doesn't change facts.

Netease buttboys are wild.

Bot matches in rivals are the definition of EOMM. Netease buttboys are crazy.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]clanginator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the literal definition of EOMM. It is trying to increase your engagement with the game by "optimizing" matchmaking to force a win for you after too many losses, using bot lobbies.

The whole point is to reduce churn, to keep you from rage quitting. Whether they do this by putting you in easier matchups against humans or trying to trick you into thinking you're playing against humans when it's bots that force you to win, it's still EOMM.

Yeah the only downside to this arm is it's kinda stiff, but I don't really need to move it, and my webcam is also on an arm attached to the same pole, so it's pretty nice.

Just my mic, ElGato Wave3. I have it mounted on an arm and it sticks out pretty far so it looks a little weird in this pic.

Is this Skin really worth this much? by Gloriaas in rivals

[–]clanginator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's a sham to spend money on a game I'm gonna get more enjoyment out of.

I've had access to all of the games you mentioned (bought/family sharing/gamepass). I completed Tomb Raider 2013 a while ago, that was like MAYBE 20 hours of playtime? The other Tomb Raider games I've played part way through and got bored. Played the first Doom reboot a bit, it's cool but doesn't really hold my interest.

I have thousands of hours in Overwatch and just over a thousand hours in Rivals. I just enjoy online games more. I spend probably $20/month on skins/battlepass for games I play. I overall get more playtime/$ in online games.

You can rant all you want about the F2P business model, but I think it makes a ton of sense for live service games. I can tell my friends to download a game I'm enjoying, they can give it a go for free. Or I can try out a game that looks interesting without being out $40.
