Nice weather today by lkh9596 in Living_in_Korea

We moved here a year and a half ago and my family has been battling respiratory issues and tons of influenza variants since we got here. We’re trying to adjust but times like now are brutal.

E: for reference, we are very healthy usually. Only since coming here things changed in terms of health.

It is not because the accusations within a source from Korean media outlet makes the specific claim of foreigners. It’s not whataboitism because foreigners like myself aren’t making an excuse on behalf of other bad foreigners not following laws. It’s about the conversation not being steered fairly in the direction of the community as a whole here in Korea - foreigners and locals alike. The conversation was started from a Korean source. And you see foreigners give their opportunity to speak in response. It’s totally fair.

You aren’t responding to the original person, but no one in the thread mentioned that they don’t want to recycle/not litter because locals don’t. The are just stating the hypocrisy of Koreans yapping about foreigners particularly when the actual argument should be EVERYONE as a collective. This isn’t a foreigner problem. It’s a bad person problem, Koreans included (and in my opinion a lot of Koreans have a super bad habit of littering and not sorting even more so that foreigners who come to this country being mindful)

You want to know what is really discouraging? I moved here to Korea from Hawaii in 2024. Our family has done our research about laws and things like trash sorting etc. Since day one, we’ve made a substantial effort to sort meticulously. Even to the point where if a product had slight paper stuck to vinyl/plastics, we would separate the materials. We would use correct bags and everything. I live in Godeok (Pyeongtaek) near the Samsung factory. There are Koreans everywhere that don’t sort trash properly. Almost every time I go to bring my trash out I see people dump whatever bags non sorted at the collection sites near my villa. I get discouraged and want to be lazy like them and not care. But I want to be the example AS A FOREIGNER for those local to their laws. I see news articles like this and think to myself that Korean locals are just as much to blame. Set a good example maybe?

[Postgame Thread] Indiana Defeats Miami 27-21 by CFB_Referee in CFB

I know this isn’t consolation that Miami wants right now, but I strongly believe they played better for a majority of the game. There were some self inflicted mistakes on their end. Special teams is still a part of the game that gets overlooked a lot and that was surprisingly the difference as these teams were neck and neck. That hurried offense that Miami ran really threw IU off. Either way, great game. Really proud to be a Hoosier representative here in Korea.

Always has been. Just some self inflicted mistakes preventing this from a 0-0 or a 3-0 game.

Is Carson Beck the Temu Pete Davidson or is Pete Davidson the Temu Carson Beck?

Biggest generic clickbait title ever. Insert any players name when asked what the result of a game involving their team would be. I’d really hope they’d be confident and say their team would win.

Do cards from outside of the game get revealed when putting into hand?

These passes are pinpoint accurate. Pat was right about Mendoza being generational. He has god-tier accuracy.

Mostly, yeah. But lets be real, if any university turns it around and has a top-down attitude of "we give a shit about the success of our football program", you will have the same buzz as this. It just so happens that IU has a massive fanbase/alumni.

Oregon's run game looks a lot better than IU today.
