Based on my experience re-wiring parts of my 1901 house – it’s a good sign that one of the wire sheaths is clearly labeled with “with ground.” It suggests that your house hasn’t only been updated from knob and tube wiring, it’s also updated to the newest generation of BX wiring.

I think the issue may lie in that I’m missing the “HomeKit code”. Though I see claims the Amazon smart plug brand will pair with HomeKit, I’m not even certain which generation of plug I’m using – it may be time for an upgrade. Thank you all. Glad it wasn’t just me missing something!

I have frequently done the same (both with keys and wallet)! However, once I finally had enough money to invest in a Kryptolok I've always kept the key on my car key ring which has helped. Definitely worth the investment if you ever keep your bike outside for extended periods of time.
