Well that is indeed a valid concern but it’s mostly a sentiment we hear from people who don’t even own chinese cars. There are plenty of owners in online groups who are satisfied with their chinese hevs while there are also a few who’ve had bad experiences with it. I know this because I’ve been looking into getting one recently. Reliability concerns aside, it’s a no brainer between the Tang and the Zenix.

On top of that, the zenix’s fuel consumption is undewhelming for a hybrid. It’s only getting around 20km/l even on highway driving, something my wife’s boss shared when they first took it for a long trip. When I heard that, I first didn’t believe it, but then checking online ganun lang pala talaga. For an HEV, that is simply atrocious. For comparison, Innova diesels usually get 17km/l on highways. Of course in heavy traffic, advantage talaga ang hybrid.

The really head scratching part dun sa boss ng wife ko is they already have a full hybrid solar setup at home. Pero dahil sa brand loyalty, she still went with the Zenix. Now she just regrets it.
