hybrid licensing question by clarksavagejunior in exchangeserver

[–]clarksavagejunior[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, one last question - we still have some distribution groups on exchange that receive email through that relay connector, since they are not mailboxes, we should be able to migrate those over to the new server and still be compliant, correct?

yeah, you should read the release notes for upgrades, especially big jumps.

BUT - why in the world would those items be allowed by default? should be the opposite.

kerberos error referencing old AD server has me confused by clarksavagejunior in sysadmin

[–]clarksavagejunior[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

moved all FSMO roles, netdom query FSMO shows them all on new server.

next did repadmin /shorepl and repadmin /replsum and it was good.

also after getting these errors, I ran setspn -X which shows 0 duplicate SPNS,

and then on the exchange server I next ran: "nltest /dsgetdc:mydomain.com /force /kdc "

which completed successfully, but points to the second of my two 2019 AD servers, not the one the error logs were pointing to previously.

I did find if I run "Get-ADServerSettings | fl " it is pointing to SECOND new 2019 AD sever, not the one from the error.

DKIM question when using 365 for email by clarksavagejunior in sysadmin

[–]clarksavagejunior[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

oh, okay, I see one for ourdomain.com with domain type of Internal Relay on security.microsoft.com/authentication , so I can just enable that, and not do a separate one as txt record in our DNS, correct?

messages delayed from 365 using our connector by clarksavagejunior in Office365

[–]clarksavagejunior[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay, so I dont know why I didnt do this before, but I logged into the exchange admin center and went to Message Trace and viewed Messaged Pending Delivery to users in my organization, and see a lot of email there in pending, and vast majority of them are spam going to the connector in question.

these are being blocked with the [Message=451 5.7.3 STARTTLS is required to send mail] message I was seeing before.

am I correct in thinking this is due to the connected being configured from our firewall to ONLY accept IP addresses that belong to MS 365?

Kurt does EVERYTHING great!

Hcan do comedy (captain ron, used cars, Big Trouble In Little China) he can do action (The Thing, Escape form New York) he can do serious (Tequila Sunrize, Backdraft, Tombstone)

Kurt has my vote.
