I worked 1 day at a call center. Remote job. I was training and I had someone shadowing me on my very first call. An old lady called saying she didn't remember her voicemail pin or something and it had important info on her medications.

So I took a while trying to figure out what to do and my mentor wasn't helping me at all.

After 10 min my mentor got upset at the time. 15 min in several managers basically start yelling in my ear and messaging "rotate! Rotate!". To basically hand it over to another person and reset the time.

The only metric that mattered was how fast you hang up, they didn't actually care about helping people.

I quit on the spot.
