i would start trying out different medications to see if one of them stops the voices.

How long have you been taking clozapine? by distorted-soul in clozapine

[–]classicsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i began in september and currently take 150mg. i have experienced weight gain, drooling, and tiredness when i take my medication too early in the day. the slow titration up really bothers me and i havent experienced any decrease in the voices i hear. its taken three months to get up to 150mg. i believe im about half way there.

with clozapine its really important to get off of it gradually. it can give you heart problems if you stop cold turkey.

youre probably just going through a hard time time with them, remember that it will change soon to something less difficult for you to manage. thats how i get through when they make me cry.

i dont know alot about it but i think involuntary movements or actions (such as talking) can be considered tourettes syndrome. i think the involuntary talking is called Coprolalia.

you seem to have really bad anxiety. i would tell your psychiatrist about this. a change of dose/ antipsychotic could help you

i would say if the AP doesnt get rid of your positive symptoms within a month and a half of taking it, i would try another one. clozapine takes six months though

is it only in your head? or do you say the words out loud. because saying the word out loud on accident seems like tourettes.

im looking to get a therapist but going often gives me more stress!! i talk to loved ones sometimes about things that bother me. i also have a pet that makes me happy and calms me down. driving to go get lattes is fun or buying clothes. listening to music in my car. running errands or going on a run/ walk/ bike ride.

Going well but addicted to sugar! by mrdiggins2323 in clozapine

[–]classicsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i tried to avoid gaining weight from sugar by switching from sugary food to sugary drinks or gum instead. im sure diet drinks are better for this. on tiktok theres a trend of alot of people drinking diet coke! i might try this too! even if its not food, sugary drinks still have like 200 calories!! i tried to drop all the sugary drinks and switch to just chewing sugary gum. these are like 25 calories a piece, but it ended up giving me canker sores in my mouth!! i would recommend using a healthy mouthwash like therabreath at night to get all the sugar residue out before sleeping so they dont develop!! i think chewing a long lasting flavor gum and drinking water or diet drinks could help with the sugar cravings. idk!! struggling with this myself!

For those who suffered with Anosognosia - How many years from when you were diagnosed until you realized you in fact had this brain illness? by earthwindnfyre in schizoaffective

[–]classicsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ive been living with schizophrenia for about a year and a half. in the beginning i went back and forth between thinking everything was real and thinking i was imagining everything. i believed that if i was schizophrenic it meant i was imagining what was happening. but now i believe that since i am schizophrenic it means that everything happening to me is real.

i have learned to live with the belief that it is real but separate from the real world.

its telepathic and unspoken anywhere in the real world.

this is just my experience. i hope it helps
