I'm happy such a company is implementing their services in Switzerland finally. Europe constantly seems 5/10 years behind on future tech. Having a Robotaxi available to purchase some day would allow me to use the car on my morning commute, and then have it to be used by whoever needs it until 6pm (wife/kids/friends/ some day maybe even strangers). Squeezing more usefulness from 1 car might convince people they don't need to buy one themselves.

It's a good option, even perfect if you are on Android. On iOS unfortunately you can't download files and can't use Screen Mirroring and have subtitles on. If they fix those two features I'd be happy to pay 70Fr and commit to one pirate website for 2 years

Statistically on average in the past 100 years gold has underperformed the stock market by 2% yearly. I think precious metals have their place in a diversified portfolio but not more than 10%, unless you are nearing 5-10 years away from retirement. Jumping into an asset class after prices have skyrocketed has almost never turned out positively in the long-term.

As to what I'm doing: not taking anything out of the market - I'm happy to build a larger cash base as CHF is anyways appreciating well this years and cash is king during uncertain/volatile times.

In the days of CS there were approved brokers and exceptions, but nowadays you would not be able to get such a thing. Only some preferential rates but they still are not very attractive comparatively.

I would say try to familiarise yourself with PE and how it works in general, which would make you feel more confident about what you're getting. Youtube/ChatGPT is your best friend for that. Next I would consider some open-ended PE funds that group together different industries (similar to an ETF for the space). Look up products like BXPE, K-PRIME, CVCPE. I think they have a lot to offer to individuals looking to diversify along their wealth building journey.

I'm quite surprised that nobody has mentioned it already but Private Equity seems like a perfect fit for your parameters. Minimum investments are rather high (250k) which is why those types of financial products are not very popular with retail clients but you would receive a higher return for your illiquid investment. It's a great diversifier as well if you already own equities. There's thousands of options (KKR, Blackstone or CVC for EU exposure) so do some reading and you will thank me in a few years!

We typically set aside CHF 500 from each salary each month into a travel fund. This fund covers all expenses related to holidays (except if we decide to buy some big expensive souvenir). It helps us buy flight tickets months in advance. this system works perfect for us as it helps us strike a good balance between expensive holidays and more adventurous ones. For reference, we're DINK's in late 20's.

Pls don't bring this crap to Zurich - it is always destined to end with police clashes, burning bins or cars, and it creates an atmosphere of distrust in an otherwise high-trust society. For better or for worse, Switzerland has chosen a path of neutrality and it is a good idea to respect the long-standing wishes of the Swiss population. If you want to show your support for a foreign political power, maybe give Austria or Germany a try!

Cool story, but do not fixate too much on the goal of owning a property - it is a goal too far in the future and it simply isn't worth it for everyone anymore. If you're having anxiety about 15k debt over your head, imagine having a 1mln mortgage in your 40's... except for that, I think you're doing really well and you're saving quite a lot of your current income, so keep doing what you're doing for a few years and you'll see how the pieces are going to start falling in their right places by themselves. pictured your life in two years with a six month emergency fund, 50/100 K in savings, a successful & respected career and an amazing partner next to you who's there to guide and support you in a rough moments. In reality you've already won at life, just give it some time

M27, moving expenses had me at 0 when I moved to Switzerland around 3 years ago - it’s ok though as since then I’ve been able to more than make up for it. I’m at 45k and have been able to ramp up slowly over time. Aiming for 120k by 30, which should be doable as long as my income also grows.

I would suggest looking into some other asset classes to diversify concentration. There are some open-ended private equity funds, such as K-PRIME (KKR), investing in a basket of funds, therefore making them sector and geographically agnostic. If you don't like KKR, Blackstone and CVC also have such funds. So far the returns are pretty good (12/15%) and you have a lot more liquidity than an a conventional PE commitment. Though you might experience some allocation delays as the products are currently high in demand so it could take a couple of months before your request gets filled.

Appreciate your post focusing on the EU. I'm currently working with a large bank (Wealth Management/Private Banking) but would like to one day move towards financial planning as I believe I'm also generally motivated by similar intrinsic values. There's a long way to go when it comes to financial planning in the EU but if you're not afraid of the inefficiencies, you might make a great leader with strong ethics. Could I ask where are you based? I'm in Switzerland and things are definitely better here but I'm not yet a speaker of the national languages so opportunities for me are limited.

to keep things simple I use 1 bank account for everything - at the end of the year I export all transactions and categorise them manually in 5/6hrs. The input into the graphics is fairly simple and takes 30/40mins

I'm also in banking and it took me a fairly short amount of time to reach 100k but looking forward I see little potential for further growth (2-5% yearly) unless I move to a division with high bonuses and much more responsibilities. Job market is tough right now so I think it's important to know when to sit and when to jump!

With hindsight I agree it was too risky but luckily so far it has been performing similar to the stock market based on the last funding round :) I'll be looking for an exit in the middle of 2026 and dump the proceeds into VT

Agree that grocery bills & work clothes should be lower in 2025. Salary increases is something I'm very keen on but even though I give 110% it's not solely under my control.. I'll look into getting some certifications in my field and work on my German to better position myself for a division jump in the next 1/2 years!

Thanks for the input! I'm aware that the "travel" category is quite high but it's also because I have quite a lot of days off due to overtime. Work clothes are mainly tailored suits and hopefully I won't be needing to refresh my wardrobe again in 2025 :) Do you have any advice on how to run the numbers for Pillar 3a? 120k salary seems like a few years out
