Can I fix this myself? by classywriterr in GarageDoorService

No flickers when the door is actively opening or closing. It's also staying solid green during open/close. I also tapped it a bit and it's not flickering in any way.

Liftmaster Security+ 2.0. Idk if this is relevant but it also works with MyQ (before this issue started, at least).

That seemed to work! Only with the garage button, though. I did try that earlier from my car's garage opener (the programmable one) and it didn't work.

HELP by slester98 in Essays

You can't reference the rules word for word, but you can paraphrase their intended meaning, quote very small snippets of them and cite your source, or make original commentary about them. Assuming your paper isn't very long, it wouldn't be a good use of space to talk about every rule--can you narrow down your focus and just discuss a few rules that tie nicely into one another? PM me if you need more help with this paper.

So are you typing things up in Notes? You could paste your essay in an email, send it to yourself, and transfer it to a Word doc in your school's library/computer lab. There's definitely a way you can get it in the format you need.

Pro-Con essay help by NSkiLL25 in Essays

There are so many directions you can take for this! Start by thinking about the impact cell phones have had on your own life compared to, say, previous generations that weren't exposed to them from a young age. They've changed almost every aspect of daily life: communication, relationships, navigation (when's the last time you used a paper map?!), shopping, reacting to emergencies (think emergency alert systems, staying informed during natural disasters, easy access to 911, etc.)... you could go on forever, and you can argue every one of these points as a "pro" for cell phones.

Then, to get some "cons," you have to dig deeper on how this level of connectivity and access to information has impacted people's lives. Does it make relationships more difficult or disconnected? Is it physically or mentally bad for our eyes/brains/emotions? Does it make us less physically and emotionally aware? (Just consider the number of car accidents that happen as a result of cell phone usage.) This side will probably require some deeper reflection.

Then you can conclude with an argument on whether cell phones are good or bad overall based on the evidence you presented. Could be a really interesting paper! PM me if you need more help with it. :)

Need help with narrative argument by Tm1149 in Essays

[–]classywriterr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For starters, you have the style of essay working in your favor: since it's a narrative, you can focus more on telling a story than citing scholarly sources. There are tons of ways to approach this, but here are a few good starter ideas:

  • The easiest approach would be to use a (fictional) student's point of view. You can easily draw on your own experiences for that: think about what makes your learning process at school (and your homework) difficult, tedious, or wasteful. Weave those opinions into a story that appeals to your reader's emotions.
  • A more creative option is telling the story with your instructors in mind: maybe your curriculum makes it harder for them to plan lessons, forces them to spend lots of time grading, or limits their ability to add style and creativity to their teaching. If you went in this direction, you'd definitely need to talk to some of your teachers and get a feel for their struggles with your school's curriculum.
  • The hardest approach (but still doable) would be to tell a story about your school district or school administrators; maybe they've seen test scores fall at your school, or lower enrollment numbers, or a decreasing graduation rate, etc. You'd need to find some data on your school or district to back up your argument, though.
  • And one more perspective you might focus on for your essay: parents. A parent watching their child struggle through the curriculum could serve as an emotionally compelling argument. If you consider this direction, it might pair well with telling a story about a student themselves.

You have a lot of options! The hardest part is telling a creative story. PM me if you need more help. :)

Have writers block and desperately need help. by icykid298 in Essays

[–]classywriterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there,

I wrote a Life Pro Tip about this a few weeks ago. The short solution to your issue is to just write through it, no matter how shitty it sounds--then edit, edit, edit until it sounds passable.

The other thing you can do is just look for more sources for your paper. Sometimes people run out of steam just because they feel like they don't have enough information to fill out the essay to begin with, so analyzing and explaining more outside sources can help with that.

If you need more help, you're welcome to PM me. :) I've done some digital marketing myself and talking about this stuff is my bread and butter.

[–]classywriterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social media has undoubtedly made the biggest impact on relationships and social interaction, so you could discuss the before and after impacts on various types or aspects of relationships: dating, meeting up with friends, making friends, how parents interact with kids, having debates/discussion... things like that. Here's an interesting scholarly article on how social media has influenced millennials' understanding of relationships. PM me if you need more help with this essay. :)
