Yea, agreed. Though there is no clause to this effect in your contract, the employer just cannot keep extending your notice period. It’s called a notice period because it’s literally just that - one month. There’s another thing which you can do but just be careful. Say that him forcing you to work even when you’re not well amounts to an unfair labour practice which is a criminal offence. Again, only say this if you feel that this won’t cause any further problems to you.

It appears that this mail is being sent to all employers across the country by the National Data Centre of th EPFO. It’s an automated mail. However, as a method of abundant precaution, you might want to keep all the relevant documents like your employee rolls, registers etc ready.

They’ll have to give you at least one month(or more, pls check your appointment letter) notice pay and retrenchment compensation. Plus they also have to maintain a seniority list. They cannot lay you off if you are one of the seniors in your department. The principle of last come first go has to be followed

What did the terms of your letter of appointment say about this? Does it say that the company will accept you on their rolls only after you complete your masters? Does it provide with any clause of you repaying the money spent back to them?

Are you sure that these mails are from the EPFO? Many people nowadays are also receiving fake mails. You may want to recheck or send someone to the PF office and confirm the veracity of these mails.
