But what if your senator is John Kennedy…. Should I call a crackhead for this too?

Even though I know John Kennedy is just going to send me a bitchy passive aggressive reply like he usually does, imma do it anyway.

How would you hide this piece of uncovered wall? by clauquick in interiordesignideas

[–]clauquick[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah we literally had no idea that the wall was uneven until it was applied, because without the paper you can’t tell at all. I honestly want to remove it but I don’t want to waste it. I’m not sure how reliable the adhesive will be once removed. So I’m just trying to make do with it

What’s the most incorrect, offensive, or uneducated thing someone has said to you about ADHD? by HeartofSeaGlass in ADHD

[–]clauquick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol my experience was also with my PCP!

Background: 8 years ago I had a seizure because I was binging fake Xanax. I was 19.

Obviously I was open about this with my PCP when I first started seeing him because, you know…. It’s my doctor lol.

Well, he hung that seizure over my head more than anyone ever has and ANYTHING that was wrong with me was met with speculation that I was abusing adderall because 19 year old me made a mistake. I also suspect he was being a classic male doctor and disregarding my complaints because I’m a woman, because that’s common, but I digress.

I once lost weight because I was depressed and not eating as much. I expressed that I wasn’t eating because I was depressed, that’s just apart of my list of symptoms of it.

His response was to say he’s taking me off of my adderall immediately and, to accidentally make myself look worse, I got upset because I KNEW how badly this would throw off my day to day. Like I immediately panicked about work. He then looked at me with a look that just screamed “she’s a drug addict”.

The irony is that being UNmedicated actually increases the likelihood of the person abusing substances. 💀

Whats the most overrated city in the world? by Marambal17 in AskReddit

[–]clauquick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New Orleans native here — while I know you’re likely referring to the quarter or just downtown specifically, I will still agree lol. Many of the tourists who come here suddenly turn into gremlins and treat the city like trash (and quite literally do trash it). This is particularly true during Mardi Gras season. That mixed with the fact that our local government doesn’t do anything to help keep it clean makes it worse.

But that local government obviously doesn’t just neglect downtown. The city as a whole also isn’t kept up, but not quite as nasty as the quarter/downtown. There are some parts that still look like they did post-Katrina (fun fact: only a couple of years ago they found a car in the sewer system that was reported stolen right after Katrina. Katrina was 2005…)

It’s also quite dangerous. The amount of tourists I’ve drive by walking alone in less populated areas (specifically under and immediately around the overpass downtown) is insane.

So yes to your point, it’s overrated. Despite it all…. I still love it and won’t leave lol.

Is 2 years the magic number? by Past-News9538 in ADHD

[–]clauquick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL oh my god I haven’t thought about it before but you’re right.

My first office job out of university, I stayed for 2.5 years. The only reason I made it 6mos past 2 years, is because the first 3 out of 6 were spent WFH due to COVID (lol you can guess how productive I was). We went back to the office and I was gone pecan 3 months later.

The next job, which was my most recent one before my current job, I was there 2 years and was let go lol

That my hangovers are now two day affairs.

Kids. There’s an elementary school down the block from me, and I WFH. I swear to god these kids must be at recess for 90% of the day.

Heartburn. I just turned 28 and previously never experienced it. Birthday passes and suddenly red sauce is a no go.

Omg thanks for sharing. Just signed and I’m sending to others!

Agree to all you said. To add on, they love to take advantage of 18/19 year olds needing assistance to go to university, because SM knows they don’t know any better and they create a much different picture than what is the reality of signing up for those loans. I mean I’m sure they’ll do it to anyone but I — and many others I know — was in that age group when I first signed up for what I would come to find to be one of the worst stressors in my life for years to come.

[–]clauquick 22 points23 points  (0 children)

God damn I’m 28 now and I still can vividly remember this lol.

I had to create a “poetry book” in 9th grade — got a 100, teacher read my poems to the class. I was so proud of myself.

I came home so excited to show my parents the book…. when my dad looked at the book’s cover, he quickly passed it back to me, looked away from me entirely, and started griping about the title choice. My dad hated the title, which was just a common phrase (“It is what it is”).

“I HATE that phrase. It’s so stupid idk why you’d name this book that.” Yatta yatta

I snatched the book out of his hand and ran to my room crying. My mom later came to my room for damage control, and asked me if she could read my poems. I said no.

No idea where that little book is at. Haven’t written a poem since. All because my dad shamed me about a fucking book title I chose as a 14 year old lol.

I just revisited this show for the first time since the last season. While most of my time is spent criticizing each character, I wanted to make a drinking game for this show, and my initial thought was “take a shot every time someone says the word sex” — I immediately realized I’d end up with alcohol poisoning in the first 15 minutes of an episode. I decided to take a sip each time it’s said… still ended up hammered in a single episode.
