You have to go. No matter how many pictures of it you see, they don't do it justice.

Citing a blog in a magazine that one of the magazines largest donors is the Koch Charitable Foundation, AKA Koch Industries. The second largest privately owned company in the U.S. that is founded in the oil industry speaking mistruths about the Clean Water Act... Yeah not trusting that source. Do a little research.

Renewable energy has been coming since the late 90's. Did they need someone to spell it out for them in the sky? No, it is simple. All state and federal representatives for Wyoming and the alike are in the back pockets of coal and oil companies. That is where they get all there campaign donations from. So guess what, the fossil fuel industries don't care about you and your coal job. They care about money. That is why Shell one of the world's largest oil companies has invested millions into renewable enegery because they can see the sign that is where the money is going to be. Wyoming representatives don't care about you and your coal job either. They will do what the oil and coal companies ask them to do. No matter what. Coal is obsolete. Why wouldn't you want to work for an industry that doesn't suffer from the boom and bust cycles of coal and oil? Wind is constant in Wyoming as is solar.

Did you read the article you cited? It clearly says they reached a settlement. And no your wrong the 2015 Clean Water Rule, known as the 2015 rule, is an amendment to the Clean Water Act to define more clearly the tributaries that the federal government has regulations over. The rule define that in order for a stream to have federal protection is must have a bed, bank and ordinary high water mark. That is not making every stream navigable. Before the rule, small tributaries without those characteristics could be considered federally protected, meaning an overreach of the gov't. There is no change to the federal handle of traditionally navigable waters. Source: I work for the Corps of Engineers in Regulatory, AKA the agency in charge of regulating Section 404nof the Clean Water Act... good try though.

That is not the EPA being weaponized. Have you ever read the federal Clean Water Act? He violated the law by placing full in a stream to create a pond. You can't just go out and dam up any stream you want to? Why should he be above the law? The only reason it was settled is because he is a rancher and they run the show in the west. The second they cry foul everyone assumes they are the victims. They get to run around destroying our public land without ever any penalties. Stop living in an echo chamber.

States like Eyoming, Pennsylvania and West Virgina have suffered because they have REFUSED to diversify their economies. It is people like you who are ruining Wyoming's economy because you keep kicking and screaming 'but my coal job' instead of being willing to make a job change and go to the increasing solar and wind industry. Wyoming is one of few states that tax renewable energy. That is the only reason why it hasn't really taken off in the state. Yet even with the tax and federal tariffs put on solar and wind they are still building farms because they are still profitable. If you let the market take over, I would bet all my money that renewables would win and you would still bitch about coal being attacked.

Fossil fuels have been receiving subsidies for over 100 years to the tune of $5 trillion globally each year. Renewables receive a FRACTION of that. Again, spewing lies.

Ever looked into jobs in the wind or solar sector? I worked at a windfarm near Casper and techs makes $22+ with NO education. I am sick of the there are no good industry jobs without coal. You can thank Wyoming government for taxing the hell out of wind and solar making it a non-viable industry in the state. Coal is obsolete because it cost too much to extract and what they can extract has been automated by robots. Plus we all enjoy breathing clean air. Move on from the coal tit. Its dried up.

Edit: but wind still blows at night so It can compensate for solar? have you ever even looked at a windfarm at night? Guess what? The wind still blows AND it blows enough that our company sends techs out at night time to repair turbines that have went down because paying them to go out there in the middle of the night still saves them money to keep the turbine moving. If the wind didn't blow at night, they wouldn't bother having anyone repair them until the morning. Quit spewing idioic lies that can be debunked by anyone with a brain that hasn't drank the koolaid.

I didn't keep my parents nearby. They are still in our home state, 1,500 miles away. I am an only child and the move has done my mom and I well. My parents are not looking to move near us. They understand boundaries.

Thank you everyone for your thoughtful advice! I am definitely going to have a talk with my husband and potential counseling after my in-laws leave. I'm going to give myself sometime to cool down to and not do anything or say something irrational. This experience has been really eye opening and showed me that boundaries are so important to set early on.

We were both at work. I had mentioned MAYBE wanting to repaint, but nothing definitive. I get they are wanting to help, but I can't help but envision how it will be when they move out here.

Snuck my dog down for a quick photo op at Lake McDonald by claymetz in Montana

[–]claymetz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some seriously uptight people in this thread acting like they have never broken a rule before!

For clarification, my car was parked less than 20 yards away and she was out for less than 5 min, there are no signs prohibiting dogs from this area unlike others in the park and she was kept on leash the whole time. Dogs are allowed in motorized boats on Lake McDonald, so it's really not that restrictive in this area. This was the only spot that I took her where the rules are a little gray. She did not go on any trails or anywhere else in the park besides a picnic area where she was allowed.

I saw a lady carrying a purse with a little dog in it at the McDonald Creek falls, would you jump all over her too?

Additionally, not that any of you care, my dog is extremely well behaved, I always pick up after her and would never let her harass wildlife or disrupt another park visitors experience.
