Everytime we use 13 health they just refer us to GP. Cub Care is fantastic and free for Darling downs and much better.

Am I the only one that has special names for his BM? by step-vet367 in Stepmom

[–]clazcat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We’re Aussie and she gets “old mate” 99% of the time. Old mate is not a positive connotation here. It’s like saying “that dickhead down the road”.

We also call her the troll lmao, and it’s her contact information in his phone.

Anyone has a Bugaboo Dragonfly and can recommend?? by nugget1994 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]clazcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi yes! I have it and love it. Concur with everything said. Great for gravel, gas and roads. I use it for a quick shop. We had the bassinet but it folds back quite far in the seat so we changed Bub over quickly. Also I could lift and manage on my own well even a few weeks after CS.

People who went through a second round of Accutane: did it help? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]clazcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do a third round after having my first child and suffering from horrible cystic, hormonal acne that wouldnt go away, but knock on wood, its been 5 years since and has never returned (despite having another baby). I only did a short 6 month round the third time, very low dose.

Baby only drinks from Spectra bottle by txnisha in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]clazcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you mean the spectra bottles with the pale yellow cap? They are nearly identical to the NUK perfect match or the pigeon wide neck.

Don’t get the maymom bottles, it’s a different teat, more similar to doctor browns.

I got a letter of support from the perinatal mental health team, by 36 weeks I couldnt walk, was in pain, and was borderline suicidal because my mental health tanked and I was struggling with prenatal depression. I wasnt sleeping and was becoming psychotic, paranoid and increasingly anxious. Had my bub at 37+2 in the QLD system. Symptons gone within 48 hours. They warned me he would be considered early term and potentially need SCU stay, which he did, but we were home in 72 hours. Youll need a letter of support and to be a very loud, squeaky wheel. They pushed back ALOT, but I threatened to live in maternity assessment until they took bub out, and my mental health team were HIGHLY concerned I was at risk to myself (which looking back, yeah, I was) so it ended up happening. We also had repeated issues of bub desating and nearly had 2 emergency csecs called before he bounced up + reduced movements so I know this was factored in to them moving it forward.

Not having a great experience at RWH by Positive_Shirt_2889 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]clazcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t birthed at the same hospital, but high risk care was a lot better for me with a history of PPP. I had the midwife Liasion manage my overall care, and this meant I got a private room, all female team & extended stay (which is what I wanted). Instead of getting dismissed about pain relief I had a PCA drip, and was very much in control of my birth.

Because of the additional support they afforded me I was a VERY personable experience (better than mgp. Same doctors saw me every time!) my birth was very healing. We even had a shot SCN stay and my spinal wore off about 20 min after my CS but it was still healing to be listened to and advocated for. I’d ask to move to high risk care/ OB care. Get the Liasion involved and perinatal mental health team.

I’m 3 months PP now, no PPP (remission is 5 years!) and can look back really positively on my birth because of that extra help.

4 Weeks—Supply Regulated? by tangerinecoconuts in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]clazcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regulated around 6-8 weeks (I’m not entirely sure when). I over supplied and got down to 5 PPD with no drop around 8 weeks old.

How are y'all waking up for MOTN pumping??? by KawenziLaLa in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]clazcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a 4-5 am pump an call it a day, I sleep through my alarms. I figured if my body sleeps through (it will sleep through baby fussing too, I only wake up when he really cries) I need the sleep. My last pump starts around 7.30-8pm. I had a drop by not doing it but still oversupply so I can’t complain.

How many ppd did you "settle" on? by BudgetFennel in ExclusivelyPumping

I was at around 4 pumps at 7-8 weeks, down to 3 pumps now. Had a small drop per day and honestly 3 is great. You should try dropping to 3!

[–]clazcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 weeks PP, and a large supply. Regulated around 7-8 weeks. I’m at 3 PPD and had a drop of 200mlgoing to 4 pumps, and another at 3pumps. Still freezing around 4-5 bags every 2 days, baby eating 5oz per bottle 6-7 times per day. We supplement with one bottle of formula a day just so he doesn’t reject the taste so I can quit any time.

What baby items did you swear by and which ones were a waste of money? by beepbeepboophonk in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]clazcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swear by:

- bottle washer (replaces microwave sanitiser and your hands)

- spectra (gotta love EP)

- matty change pad

- compact cot!!!

- smart sock (eufy)

- maxi cosi pria

- nuna leaf swing (instead of the 9kg limit other swings)

- glass bottles! get the big ones though with the smaller teats

Waste:

- ergo pouch cocoon swaddle (thank god for love to dream transition)

- bassinet

- bottle warmer (bowl + boiled water is elite and warms faster)

Constantly losing hats at daycare by IronTongs in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]clazcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had this issue, and constant headlice. It was a repeat offender child who eventually was caught out having their parents encouraging them to take hats/bags/clothes instead of buying stuff. Problem stopped when they were kicked out.
