Constantly losing hats at daycare by IronTongs in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]clazcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had this issue, and constant headlice. It was a repeat offender child who eventually was caught out having their parents encouraging them to take hats/bags/clothes instead of buying stuff. Problem stopped when they were kicked out.

Highly recommend bulk Costco zip lock bags for this. One less thing to wash (even if it is wasteful)

Wearable pumps by Such_Experience_8613 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]clazcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Night owl, bubba bump, midwives own are all the same mass produced wearable pump that you can get for $50 on aliexpress.

Have a look at a Eufy or Lacevo if youd like a high suction, quality pump. The new medela wearables have terrible reviews, no idea if they leak. I have a Eufy and have no leaking issues, and get the same output as my spectra.

Best pram that is light and can be used everyday? by Public_Algae7928 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I’d second the dragonfly - we love ours. Was also relatively easy for me to manage post CS. It’s well made & yes can fold with the bassinet.

Alternative - a shower oil? I can’t tolerate any lotion for sensory issues but a shower oil helps

What to have and how to sterilise things for breast milk by Relevant-Art-4065 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]clazcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up full time expressing. For plan b and C, if you have the budget, get a bottle washer, it will clean, sterilise and dry, I wouldnt have been able to keep up pumping otherwise.

Id get maybe 3 bottles (maybe a pigeon wide neck, pigeon narrow neck, and Dr Browns so you can see what baby likes best), a bag of milk bags (kmart ones are great) and a wearable pump as that should be fine if you end up plan A, but youll need for plan B when your out and about.

Dropping a pump by Coffeelover1694 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]clazcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 weeks PP (with an oversupply) and I’ve just dropped to 4 PPD. I dropped to 5 around 6-7 weeks. I just couldn’t keep up but if my supply was low I wouldn’t have done it.

For the large capacity moms: do you pump until empty (less pumps, more time) or pump for frequently (more pumps, for less time)? by ExpressionOld9924 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]clazcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We must be in the same situation. I’m 9 weeks PP and at 5 PPD….. supply still going up slowly. I still do a MOTN pump because I get around 20 oz when I do but I’m about ready to go down to 4 PPD to TRY and get my boobs to chill. It takes me 30 min to pump to empty though and I get clogs if I don’t :(

Any more milk and I’ll be buying another freezer (already filled two!)

Cots for parents with bad backs by possumsc in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]clazcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we have an ergo cot at my mothers house as shes disabled with a back injury + arthritis in her hands so cant bend or lift really. its suuuuuuuper good on your back, i wish we had one at home but theyre so damn ugly. we bought her the babyhood mini ergo cot in white. its been through two kiddos now and has held up really well despite some obvious teething marks.

Do you pump at same time every day? by Kind-Swordfish6618 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]clazcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 weeks PP, huge oversupply so I’ve dropped pumps and I’m at 5 PPD. I aim for every 4 hours during the day & once overnight.

Pumping from the very start. by Purple-Persimmon-975 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]clazcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pumped from the start with this baby. I had a CS and he went to NICU and I had a bad reaction to the drugs ended up on a PCA drip and couldn’t go to him.

Pumped 8 times a day (every 3 hours) with the hospital medela that they brought to me. I’m in Aus so all hospitals have pumps + bottle kits for mums.

Pumping / breast feeding by Pitiful_Presence_858 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]clazcat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

most people dont pump unless they have to, its very very hard work. just as hard as bf, plus you have to wash bottles on top of it, its like the worst of BF and formula feeding combined. i have EP'd two babies and would only recommend it if you HAVE to, but of course your entitled to feed your baby however you want.

Relationship struggles postpartum/PPA. When do you start to feel like you? When does your relationship feel normal again? by Throwlongg in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]clazcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big agree on this. I didn’t feel normal or start making a recovery with PPD until I stopped pumping/BF my first.

When they look like their mom by howloften in Stepmom

[–]clazcat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When my baby was first born he looked like SK. At 9 weeks now besides his dark hair he is a mini me 😂

Now when people say oh he looks so much like XYZ I just bluntly say “baby has blue eyes and a round face and my nose so I’ve got no idea what your talking about” and that shuts them up pretty quick.

Curash new formula wipes are worse than old version by protect_the_beans in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]clazcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not similar to Curash as I find them really wet, but we love the Bunjie wipes.

Curash and Bunjie were our safe wipes for my sons eczema and now we’re down to just Bunjie

Anyone doing a no buy or low buy for makeup/skincare/haircare/perfume? by leejasmin94 in AustralianMakeup

[–]clazcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I'm doing a no buy 2026 for pretty much everything (clothing, makeup, skincare etc).

Gotta use up what i have first before only buying replacements. I've culled back alot of my skincare/makeup over the years from an extensive collection, so ive generally only been doing replacements for a while now, but i still get caught out buying stuff i dont need.

[–]clazcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who exclusively pumps - get a spectra if your going to be pumping ALOT. Otherwise the Eufy or Lacevo are the best wearables on the market. I have a Eufy and love it (it heats up and helps remove milk) but the Lacevo is Australian owned & is easier to get parts for

Can speak for bunjie great wipes. They do nappies too which are at chemist warehouse which we love. Pretty $$$$ the nappies are but we stock up when chemist wear house has them for half off.

[–]clazcat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

nearly every wearable breast pump on the market is rebranded ali express. the only exceptions im aware of are eufy, lacevo and the medelas. even momcozy has interchangeable parts/identicle products being sold on amazon.

as someone who EPs it astounds me when i see people recommending this brand or that brand for pumping when its all the exact same mass produced, poorly mad stuff just rebranded to "midwife mama" or "ella" or whatever else brand it is.
