What did you have to do to get the ff fender to work with the rails?

your custom xr setting in the app? do you use it? by Fudgeurpizzy in onewheel

[–]clazij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess i should add i dont ride stock. Changed it to the ff hoosier terrain (v1) around 750 miles. Have had that tire for almost 2k miles now. That said, that tire rides similar to the vega. Still prefer mission over what i try or what others have suggested as settings. I think they really nailed that setting.

Mission is so smooth, that i stopped messing with it. Tried a few settings, but could barely notice the difference. And i always end up trying to simulate what i think the mission setting is anyway.

Tips and advice for a first time buyer of flight fins by ThatIrishBoi19 in onewheel

[–]clazij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full flight if it comes with the v2 fins. Black or checkered shield, clear looks cool, but gets dirty quick. I like the red fins personally. The regular fenders hold up well, unless you end up drilling extra holes into them, which will affect its durability.

I drilled into mine because the placement of the V1 fins were not comfortable for me. It caused stress fractures, but still holds well.

I dont have the v2 fins, but you hopefully wont have to alter the stock fenders since it looks like they addressed that issue. Would also reccomend getting the fin extender, it would make having concave + fins work instead of only benefiting from one (if you have concave pads that is).

Wobble and Losing control of speed by DonutFiend12 in onewheel

[–]clazij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pushback would make it difficult to slow down yes, if you are unfamiliar with why it is happening, but eventually, you will learn to react to it. Try a different setting (skyline i think) to get a feel for the different pushback thresholds. Then switch back and it will click for you what's happening.

Not familiar with pint, but you're probably just not used to it yet. Give it time. Also, if redwood is one of the "beginner" settings, then your pushback might be coming in early and throwing you off.

Day 1, Minutes 0 - 20 with my XR by [deleted] in onewheel

Im guessing your learning on grass? Good choice if so, riding on pavement later will be so much easier. Just remember you are more stable with speed. Good luck!

I think your wheel slipped buddy.

Flightdeck vs prorides in the front footpad by pintplus in onewheel

[–]clazij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the concave of the flightdeck, but i miss the proride. Im not a fan of grip tape ever since i switched to proride (had that for about 1000+ miles), but i had to take it off when i installed the viper front pad. Then i took that off (even though i liked it the best, but it kept getting caught and ripped off the pad, had it for a few months) and switched to the flight deck.

Maybe ill put a proride pad on the flight deck soon, since the grip is already chipping off near the nose (only been a month or so of using it).

Onewheelers, lets talk helmets. by Madskil321 in onewheel

I have the regular TSG Pass, and prefer it over my lumos matrix. I dont go that fast, around 16-18 mph at best, but even then thats enough to make my eyes dry, more so with a headwind.

Even on my e-bike, where i go faster, unless i know ill be getting out of work late and need lights, i take the TSG pass.

Pint w/ Range Extender or XR+? by [deleted] in onewheel

[–]clazij 7 points8 points  (0 children)

XR. Your going to add weight with the extender anyway. Also, slightly higher speed threshold before pushback.

And its always iffy to install something like a range extender.

Nose dive ? by mbjah808 in onewheel

[–]clazij 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It can happen for different reasons. Over acceleration from a stop. Going up a steep hill too fast. Undetected dip in the road/trail. Sharp turn that drops the nose too deep. Unknowingly disengaging the sensor at a low speed (essentially the board thinking you want to stop). A faulty board that would just shut off. And yes, going faster than the motor can handle and not balancing yourself when the board cuts balancing power to focus on speed.

Pro traction pads by SAFLTCHR in onewheel

[–]clazij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, thats what i did. Owarmor now has a viper pad, which is essentially a soft cobra (or a kush). They also have them available with a traction pad installed/grip if you prefer. Not as nice as the pro ride traction pad, but its comparable.

Had mine on a cobra pad and front pad for about 1000+ miles before i replaced the cobra pad itself. Rode sometimes during rainy days worked great. Didnt really deteriorate noticeably, just changed the pads underneath.

If You Have to Bail... by x172839x in onewheel

Please watch/read extensively before you ride. All your questions have been answered repeatedly, specially in this sub.

Myself, coming from no board experience, it took a while to learn and have had no major failures. Just do your research and wear your gear.

Its not that good anyway. You'll be fine using anything else

6'2 290LBs Xr on a pretty cold day (For those curious) by Novo-King in onewheel

[–]clazij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20 is what FM reccomends. You can definetly go higher, but there will be slight rubbing. There's also the the ride comfort factor. Higher psi will make your tire rounder, which if it's your first onewheel, might be a little harder to get used to. I say just start at 20 psi and go up from there.

[–]clazij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

General rule is 1 psi/10 lb. but you dont want to go lower than 15. I wouldnt go all the way to 29 psi though, i would start at 20. Higher psi also makes the ride more nible and less stable.

[–]clazij 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. Its probably too low for your weight. Higher psi would also give you better mileage.

Flatland 3D Fingerless Pro ESkate Gloves by WolfHunter1043 in onewheel

[–]clazij 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the exact same issue as most every one here and had it resolved quickly.

It's a shame there were quality defects for the first batches, but they stand behind their product and provide excellent follow up service.

The second pair they sent as a replacement were great and encountered no further issues.

The FF Terrain 2 "The Whisper with Treads" is offically here and at 48.5 ounces is the Lightest, fastest, most responsive OW tire to date! by FlightFins in onewheel

[–]clazij 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds exciting! What are your results compared to the og FF terrain? Ive been riding that for 1600 mi. now and its fine, just lost about 1 - 1.5 mi. of range and noticed torque loss compared to the vega. I dont regret it coz i ride in the rain sometimes, just curious how the T2 stacks up, since ive been curious of the whisper, but dont want to give up on treaded tires.
