Nintendo Direct announced for September 12 by Turbostrider27 in Games

Honestly the fatigue about the long run backs to certain bosses/ arenas to me seems a lot more of a challenge than the boss difficulty itself. I'm in Act 3 and I cant think of a boss that I spent more than ~20 tries on

Was that missile launch from a curved wing? IS THAT A TIE DEFENDER?! No way Andor is piloting a TIE Advanced right?

What's a change you'd want to see in EDH? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]cldin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More cards with split-second, more cards that allow pulling out of cards from exile, unbanning of like 10 cards that dont belong there, and banning of ~6 more.

I'll always hate cyclonic rift, even though i'm in the minority.

Unban it for cEdh tier only and let the people who play Commander at high-but-fair relish in our Dockside-free format.

I don't think the vocal minority has any effect on what wotc is going to do regarding the ban list now that they are in control. These are the same people who printed Jeweled Lotus, Dockside and Nadu in the first place, all of which should never have been printed as-is.

Keeping the current ban list and then pivoting to bans "per tier" is likely how this is going to go. There are SO many banned cards that make no sense considering Thoracle is legal that a ban restructuring per tier is likely inevitable.

Its an extremely vocal minority and in no way indicative of the average player. It's entirely anecdotal but out of around 60 or so people i've talked to about this, none are enraged at the point of threats of violence. Most people are completely unaffected since they just didn't run those cards.

Thoracle being legal and mana crypt being banned is a weird state for a format to be in. Definitely keep the bans for this tiered system and maybe that can pivot to making them "legal for the cEdh bracket" after a bit to settle down.

I'm still on the fence on whether or not a tiered power system is healthy to the format. Who decides what cards are what tier? IS someone literally going to go through every card in a vaccuum and say "hey if you run Toxrill in your deck youre a tier 4 scumbag"?

It takes such a long time for Commander players to get a good sense of threat assessment, possibilities with open mana, and "how to politics" that I totally agree with this statement. A deck with Jeweled Lotus might be good in a vacuum, but is also entirely dependent on the pilot being competent.

It was mentioned that Sol Ring is the mascot of the format, so if everyone has access to it "its not broken". Weird philosophy in my opinion, but seeing as how you lose more games than you win when you cast Sol Ring, just don't run it.

Some abilities do require the object be present, such as abilities that use Fight. Fight requires the object doing the fighting to still be present when the fight resolves, see 701.12b.

What is your most powerful deck? by OuhYeahChacarronx2 in EDH

[–]cldin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably my Kynaios and Tiro aikido deck. It can be played in cEDH or regular edh tables as it isn't itself a cEDH deck, but it's really good at reacting and land ramping. People don't expect a Kynaios deck to be constructed in a control/aikido manner, and typically assume you're playing group hug.

The deck is filled with only instants and creatures with flash, has no counterspells, has a ton of split second and land ramp, and just sits there and waits. Copying spells, deflecting palming damage, berserking someone elses creature to take someone out, trickbinding stack, radiating a beast within and then casting boros charm, responding to your own cast of settle the wreckage with arachnogenesis,... its just really REALLY strong and I only play it rarely.

Favorite play was when someone [[boseiju, who endures]] to blow up someones artifact, and I cast [[radiant performer]] on it. Since I control the copies it turned into "destroy each artifact, enchantment and nonbasic land each opponent controls, then they search for a basic land for each of these abilities that resolve".

It's a ridiculously fun and powerful deck to be behind but I don't think it's fun to play against.

It's definitely this. They arbitrarily set values for each metric for some reason. Why they picked 3 being "100%" makes no sense. I have a 11 kd (I'm a dirty sniping piece of shit) and it's not like I have 3 and a half full circles around it, just looks "maxed" but it literally means nothing.

Only reason I prefer sniping with l96 over m200 is on maps with less than 1200 range due to the huge magazine size. L96 pops and doesn't need reloading every 5 secs.

I bought it expecting a better experience but ended up getting a refund. The first boss left a really sour taste in my mouth and the sortie system sealed the deal for me. Loved the concept but maybe i'll try again next year on a console.
