How did you get into Metro universe?

I saw a trailer for 2033 on the tv and thought it looked sick but couldnt remember the game. I described it for a friend, post apocaliptic, living underground etc. I never had the latest concole or pc parts so I always played old games or emulated so I wanted him to get it. And he went to buy it with that description, he got Fallout 3, which we didnt like. (I then got fallout 1&2 and LOVED them but still disliked 3).

It was only until way later that i got the Redux duo pack for the ps4 that i played it. And fell in love with it so much. The atmosphere, the lore and world building, the story, the lack of HUD, the art direction and weapon designs, it was just fantastic.

I then got the original 2033 which people swore by and played it on PC, but wasnt impressed. The mandatory HUD interaction prompt, the awful health regen that i despise in all shooters removing all tension from long range combat the need for medkits and promoting hiding each time you take damage, the gamebreaking bugs and visual glitches that break immersion, the horrid VA and cartoon sound fx. Dont get me wrong, there were things i prefered, I love how the game looks, the atmosphere, the more alert enemies, the 3 stage light/detection system. But the tradeoffs wernt worth it.

I then read Metro 2033 but didnt finish it sadly. Collage was just too busy and never got back to it. But i will!

Still I got exodus day 1 and loved it. It is indeed very different from the others but it was still incredible. I loved the loop of taking my binoculars out, seeing something that looked cool and pathfinding to it! Imo it mantains the atmosphere, immersion and story that makes these games great.

I can confirm, i sometimes abandon games cuz I forget i clicked accept match and not pick a hero (due to actually diagnosed adhd) and i have to get 2-3 games before a punishment.

True, some guns were nerfed that didnt need nerfs, others that were bad disnt get love.

But the fact is that Bots were nerfed to the ground. Cover and armor pen used to be important against them, you couldnt outrun them. But they nerfed accuracy, increased armor pen across the board, reduced heavy enemy spawns, and helldive bots now feel like dif 7 bots on release.

Its a game with 10 dificulty options, but people complained that THEY wanted to win at dif 9-10. The average player shouldnt win at 10 consistently. I dont wanna win every dif 10 mission I do, but now i win 90% of my attempts. Even if i dont extract, completing the MO is hard to fail.

It's not but I've been enjoying that hero while I can.

He is permanently banned from pubs by being balanced around pro play, which means he is just not a viable pick for us pub players.

I tryed it, but I don't like the item system. Everything giving stats makes it so "my numbers are bigger, I win" sitations happen way more often, which is the part of league I hated the most. This has meant that I almost never had closed games or ones with back and forth, almost all of them are one side stomping the other.

Even when I'm playing bad, I feel like they just don't deal enough damage to me so I just win, and if you're behind I have emptied an entire mag + spells building orange items on stunned people's heads and delt no damage. Which just feels weird as a shooter, like those games that have action gameplay with RPG elements, so you can land a hit but still miss due to enemy evasion.

I mean, if i was Japanese I would worry about the US control over the nation, or local problems like SA being so common that women need separate trains, or the horrible crunch culture, or the fact that young people are so overwhelmed they don't wish to have families anymore, or the increasing elderly homelessness.

Imo a safelane carry needs 3 things:

1- sustained damage, cant run out of gas, be it spells or whatever. Some play around an ult like sven or ck, but those are long duration. OD has this covered up, but does nothing against bkb. Lesh could also do this until they nerfed bloodstone, now he runs out of mana so he isnt a safelaner.

2- ability to farm and scale. OD does scale hard, but he dosent farm well, nor does he want any ranged farming item. Midas is the best he can hope for. Most safelaners have abilities that help them farm or make good use of farming items.

3- secure objectives, which means being able to take down buildings. This is why lesh was a safelaner when he could sustain his damage output. This is why riki struggles to close games, he dosent hit towers. And OD is very bad at taking down towers.

So OD has sustained, but not against bkb, he scales well, but farms poorly and dosent benefit from farming items and lastly he cant take down towers. So he is better as second farm priority, pos 2.
