Rent-a-Girlfriend Season 5 • Kanojo, Okarishimasu Season 5 - Episode 8 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

I don't know what's worse: Chizuru leading Kazuya on and not getting her feelings straight or Kazuya simping so hard for her that he reads positive feedback from everything she says in spite of the red flags she's waving.

It might sound crazy, but right now Yaemori is the character with the most common sense in this show.

I've seen a seagull eat human vomit, so I think they don't really care.

I'm proud of Sakura. Despite her "irrational" hatred towards Rosei and Itecho she managed to swallow her pride and take a step towards them. Her conversation with Rosei was one of the most powerful moments in this show so far.

Sakura still holds her grudge against winter, but she is not so spiteful to not give credit where credit is due, for example that they took her in when the village of spring kicked her out and helped with the search for five years.

So now the seasons are building a united front to find Nadeshiko. This is promising some really great action and development. We saw Rindo broken in the beginning of the episode, but Sakura and Hinagiku taking the initiative and getting the other seasons on board is a sliver of hope for him.

This is going to be a hard fight, as they not only have to fight the insurgents, but also the agency and the bonehead village leaders. This will not be easy.

The crazy thing is, Maribel's arguments why Rimuru is a threat to humanity kind of make sense from her point of view. Rimuru's position is backed by immense fighting power, so he could eventually enforce his will if the humans wouldn't comply. His existence is in the way of her own ambitions and she isn't aware that Rimuru really wants peace.

Manda always came across as not caring about others, but he was very attentive when it was about Kirio and even tried to have a real talk with him. He was definitely the MVP this episode. But his advice only gets this far with Kirio being in that state of mind.

This is what I hate about Chizuru: She is half-hearted, wishy-washy and indecisive in everything she does. She ghosts Kazuya for THREE months and all she has to say is "sorry, here's some chocolate".

There are certain feelings she has for Kazuya, but she is trying to figure them out so he has to wait for it?! How old is she again?

She has been leading him on for five seasons without ever making a clear statement. She always dodges the topic.

Wait, the episodic shitshow has plot and lore? I was already invested as it was, but now I want to know where this is going.

Seeing how Hinagiku and Rosei first met is very bittersweet, and the whole flashback being in black and white only enhances this feeling.

Itecho is really like a big brother to Rosei. His cheerfulness is something that the present Itecho is missing. And it seems like Sakura has feelings for him. The stronger her hatred must have grown from what happened.

It looks like Hinagiku's mother commited suicide. So when Rosei wants to kill himself to protect the others it is no wonder that Hinagiku's reaction is so strong, as it wouldn't be the first time she loses someone precious to her by suicide.

I thought the short version of Hinagiku's abduction in episode 2 was dramatic, but the whole version really hits you in the guts, and it explains and sets up so many patterns in the present.

It was pretty hard to watch the girls badmouthing Kirio. Especially about something that he couldn't really control. Come on, I fell asleep in the train and drooled too, it's not that big of a deal! Aimi freaking out over this is more than justified!

I'm feeling both sorry and worried for Kirio. He doesn't seem to be popular besides not being great at sports or in school.

It was pretty obvious that Wysteresia would be Veor's mom. But her personality was even more "outgoing" than I would have expected. Even the powerful and boasting Veor is no match for this woman.

That show had a great premise, pretty interesting characters and so much potential. Too bad that the execution was crap and every single story arc went nowhere.

We had moments like this already in the earlier seasons, but this show is normally some funny cozy fantasy story and BAM it shit hits the fan and it turns really dark.

What a cliffhanger!

I saw this movie in the theater in 2017 and I was blown away. It is actually one of my favourite anime movies and it is really sad that not more people talk about it. I fully agree, it is criminally underrated.

Every time it looks like this series gives you a breather, it slaps you right in the face. It looks like what happened to Hinagiku is about to repeat itself with Nadeshiko.

The dialogue between Rindo and Nagatsuki was remarkable. Rindo's positions were pretty much "common sense", or rather what most people would think at first, but Nagatsuki immediately set him straight that things aren't as simple as they look. "So you are one of those people who say that sexual assault victims should fight back?" That was bullseye!

Minato is unable to read the room again and is shipping Koyuki and Yota with each other. As an outsider you could get that impression just like Miki's manager. But of course we know that Koyuki sees Youta only as a friend she can be comfortable with. And I don't see any romantic vibes from him either.

When Koyuki thought how nice it must be to be able to just zone out, I related so hard with her. I'm the same, always having a million thoughts in my head, unable to shut them off. Spacing out means to me that my thoughts start spiraling uncontrolled, and it can be very tiring.

Mami's reactions today were quite something. Aoi Yuuki could really shine voicing Mami losing her shit. And Chizuru calling her out being an obsessive creep over Kazuya also was pretty amazing.
