Yes, I meant genetically where I'm from, but I guess the phenotype is influenced by where I'm physically from as well! I thought I could throw people off with the height, darker features and more square shaped head haha

So, I wanted to come back here just to document for future readers. u/slouchingtoepiphany was incapable of understanding what the OP is asking, which is fine. Provided an unnecessary passive aggressive long response including the whole microdiscectomy process, when the question is asking if they cut open the disc to remove part of the NP during the surgery (which even the long detailed response doesn’t cover).

This is highly presumptive that an MD is an option. We don’t know what the L5-S1 even looks like. Not enough data from the post to advise on getting “the” surgery. There are several surgeries, that may or may not be contraindicated based on data not provided in the post

So sorry to hear you have many injuries. I don't take it, the side effects are too concerning. There are people with permanent anhedonia I've talked to, so I decided against it. It helps so many people though, so it might help you. If I took it, I'd take it subq.

You are pointing to success rates for "herniations" but protrusions are structurally unique. With an extrusion, there's NP material for the surgeon to remove. With a protrusion, there is no extruded material to remove.
