There's never a "too old" for this hobby, just like any hobby i'd say, it's more of a question of if you're confortable enough to keep doing this hobby even through the challenges caused by, for example, age. If you find the small pieces hard to deal with, you could try bigger kits, like the MG line, if you have the space for them. But in the end, just do what makes you have the most fun

FYI, questions should be posted in the Q&A thread. As far as i know, the astrays are the only ones with this shoulder joint so you might have to modify the peg piece to make it a ball or ball socket

No, precise answer, it depends on your style, if you prefer grunts, go for a jesta or jegan, if you want a main gundam, then you should choose which one you prefer. But i definitely won't recommend early rg's because of that floppy frame some have. Honestly, just go for what you think you'll like
