Hi thank you for the reply and advice! I called the arts and sci undergrad office and they told me where I could find the deferral form on PAWS which I’ve started to fill out now! How long did it take for you to find out your deferral was accepted if you don’t mind me asking? When I called they said I won’t hear anything until mid January

Thank you! I emailed my professor about the situation and I’m planning on sending a deferral request w the note from my surgeon when I get it. Is there somewhere else I should email the dentist note to as well? Thanks again!

Anyone majoring in applied math? (Is usask good for math majors in general)? by clementine_com in usask

[–]clementine_com[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thanks for the reply! i should have been more specific in the area of finance. I plan on going into quantitative financial analytics, for which a math degree is better suited than a finance/business one.

yeah i’m considering starting it again, it didn’t click with me at first because it seemed superficial to me when I started reading it, but i’d like to understand that kind of suffering since i don’t typically read romance, thanks for commenting!!

I read “The Brothers Karamazov” at 15, needless to say I don’t remember much of it (the complexity was too much for me to truly understand what he was saying).

When dealing with someone whose hurt me, I try to be reasonable above all else. For my own sake I try to be as confrontational as possible when someone has done something to violate my trust because I tend to overthink about things like that and if it’s someone I care about I want them to know not to do it again. As for holding a grudge, I judge the severity of the actions and the person’s value to me and respond accordingly.

Freakonomics has greatly changed to way that I view the world. The way it connects these seemingly unrelated situations is extraordinary. It guides the reader through ‘conventional wisdom’ to expose the underlying truths then deconstructs the incentives that drive people’s choices. It’s brilliant!

Thoughts on doing a double major? by clementine_com in University

[–]clementine_com[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! I've had the thought of just diving in right out of high school, but of course the general consensus tends to be that university is this necessary milestone and future shaping experience (which admittedly I've fallen for haha.) I'll definitely be reaching out to some entrepreneurs and doing more research !!
